No I don't think that's right. Jamie Elliott got the 35 jumper last year & we got him with a pre selection with either Krak or Clarke. He wasn't drafted.

2011, we traded pick 25 for Elliott and Clarke under the rules which allowed GWS to pre-list players.

I think you will find that Clarke was the steak knifes in that deal. I remeber Hine comming out and saying that they rated Elliot around the pick 30 mark.

The simple answer is NO. The number 35 jumper is reserved for our 1st selection in the national draft no matter which number is used to secure the that player.

Jumper should have been retired IMO, at least until someone worthy came along, meaning it would stay retired for ever.

Yes that is it.
They gave it to Elliott but not to Krakoeur, when they both arrived under similar circumstances (pre listed trade players traded in for our 1st selection).
Adams would get 2, 4, 7 or 13.
Our first 'live' pick in the draft will don 35.

nb I also rather they allocate to one player & not rotate

I dont care who we pick, as long as we get someone whos willing to work their arse off to become the best they can be. Players like Pendlebury and beams are what they are because of work ethic.

My reading, from various sources but primarily Knightmare is that Adams and Crouch would be your blue chip options because of the numbers they are producing. Sheed also seems fairly likely to be a top line performer whereas the others are a bit more of a risk in that you are banking on them to show upside. But it seems like Freeman and Bontempelli could be sensational if they continue an upward trend and improve a couple of facets of their game because of their natural attributes. Hard to know which way Hine will tilt. One thing I've detected is that as well as having a predilection for the vertically challenged he also seems to love basketballers which is understandable post Pendles. They seem to have a skill set which is very desirable and transferable into a good development program.

It would be interesting once our picks are finalised to maybe do one of those historical breakdowns of who has been picked at say pick 10 or 11 or 15. Sometimes the names don't fill you with a whole lot of enthusiasm! I feel luckier knowing we have Hine and Rendell as you tend to have a bit of faith in their decision making.

Have a look at phantom drafts including Knightmare's 2013 phantom draft and Lennon could be. My read is that Boyd is one and then from 2 to at least 16 is up in the air based on club's needs and where different clubs rate different players.

In isolation that is correct. You are missing the physical profile of our other midfielders though, particularly the younger ones. Having too many midfielders sub 180cm IMO will be an issue. Plus a bunch of those players have absolute elite attributes, whether it be speed or disposal. I've not seen anything of the sort from Adams. IMO the smaller you are, the more you need to rely on higher level attributes than an equivalent bigger bodied player.

Agree with your last sentence and most of what you say. What I'd add is that Adams has only played two seasons so can still develop other areas of his game. Has also been said he offers great leadership which adds a string to his bow. End of day we need to trust in our club to make an informed choice.
