I think there is a bit more to it - the MMA Fighting article is probably the pick of them.

GSP is basically calling out Hendricks and others as being drug cheats - and that he won't return until something changes.
That's pretty much how I read it, that was the pick of the articles on it IMO.

Luke Rockhold vs. Constantinos Philippou
Round one:
Both men touch gloves as the main event clash is underway. A tentative start from the middleweight duo early, as Rockhold looks for his openings. Philippou hits a low kick, before backing up the former Strikeforce champ with strikes, but he winds up eating a left-hook from Rockhold. Rockhold floors Philippou with a kick to the body, and follows up with another liver kick to finish the fight. Every one of Rockhold's finishes have come in the first round, and that streak stays alive.

Why are they holding events during the week ? Is their a public holiday in the US ?

On the fight, good win but not really sure how far this bloke can go in the MW division

No shit, this is the second time I have seen them do it, probably done it more. I was working with people from the US today who wouldnt work on a public holiday so I don't think it was. Absolute shit having a fight during the week -_-

Nearly warrants a day off :D

GSP's saying what everyone already suspects or pretty much knows, but the fact that a fighter of his standing is coming out and saying this is massive news. Of course there are a lot of fighters who are using banned drugs but haven't been caught. Most testing is done right around the time that a fighter is fighting, so passing the tests when you know when they're coming isn't exactly difficult. Clearly the UFC could do more, but more testing is only going to hurt the company financially. So why would they?

I don't think anyone here mentioned his comments about fighters being afraid to speak up. It's another obvious thing that isn't a surprise but again it's big news coming from someone like GSP. The UFC focused on the monopoly part which they technically aren't. The issue of fighters being afraid to speak up wasn't addressed though.

In the past it was probably a 50-50 split on whether I liked Dana White's rants, half the time I agreed with what he was saying and half the time I thought he should shut up. Now it's swinging a lot more in the just shut up direction. At UFC 167 he said that GSP owes it to the UFC and fans to fight Hendricks again and now he's telling GSP to be a man.

BTW Ramsey looked like a very complete fighter in that last effort, plenty of room left for improvement but needs to somehow find a way to stop fights if he's to find him in title contention.

All he needs now is a chin and he's set! He's got a habit of looking very good against average opponents but getting KO'd badly by guys around his level. To be fair though, his stand up defense looked pretty tight tonight and he out-wrestled a guy I thought would give him trouble in that department. Will be interested to see what they do with him next.

From yesterday's card, I was very impressed with Dillashaw and pretty disappointed in Larkin. Thought Rockhold looked like a beast too.... would love to see him jump Kennedy and get a crack at Bisping next.

pretty disappointed in Larkin.

I was impressed with Tavares, wasn't exactly a highlight reel fight but I thought his timing and countering was spot on. Pretty much every time Larkin looked to explode Brad would feint or jab to set Larkin on his heels.

Actually, he was saying that if GSP had an issue with the way Dana was talking about how GSP lost the match, to call him and speak to him. Man to man.
People are taking Dana's words out of context and making it out to be Dana suggesting GSP wasn't a man because of the way he went about it.

I agree with Dana mostly. I think the sport could do with far more drug testing, but they do pretty well anyway. I love that the UFC will test every fighter on international cards themselves. It's a big step in the right direction. I wish the SAC's would do something about the TRT usage though. Ban it outright for anyone born after a certain year would definitely help. It would stop guys in the early teens/20's from taking steroids.

Hi all, I just thought I would pop my head in and say hello, this is my first post on this board, i've been an MMA fan since the start of 2011 and thought I would start getting involved in some great MMA discussion.

PS. Yoel Romero is one scary dude.

His athleticism is matched by his chin that's for sure. A fair kick to the head was well taken.

Welcome mate, always good to have other MMA fans join in :thumbsu:

There was another comment other than the man-to-man one. Sure, be a man which is being reported wasn't exactly what he said, but it's the gist of it.

So, everything Georges St. Pierre says is a little kooky. That's the other thing too: I'm here, I've been in Atlanta, I've been on planes, and doing all this stuff. Lorenzo reached out to him and Lorenzo still hasn't heard from him yet. If Georges St. Pierre wants to talk like a man he can pick up the phone and call us or come see us face-to-face, but everything that he said is ridiculous.

Testing everyone on a card should be the least that is done. The fact that some commissions don't do that is laughable. The tests the UFC do for international fight cards aren't random, the fighters know when they'll be tested. I've seen it being said following the GSP comments that the fighters who get caught are the ones who are stupid enough to get caught. Do more random testing and there'll be more situations like the Overeem one.

No doubt Tavares was impressive... he's has improved dramatically since his time on TUF. I wasn't trying to discredit his performance at all. :thumbsu:

Anyone catch the WSOF card yesterday? I tuned in from the end of the first fight on the main card and it was decent. The Nam/Bollinger fight was a snoozer, but Gaethje, Rumble and Aguilar all looked very impressive in their wins. With Rumble being out of contract it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. I could see him back in the UFC at 205, but couldn't see him troubling any of the top 5-10 if he did come back.

Pat Barry has just retired.. or been allowed to be released, citing a lack of interest in being wrestled.

Code for I'm not well rounded enough to be in this game anymore. Who doesn't hate a Fitch like lay and pray, but seriously he was one dimensional and he knew it was too late to change.

His quote on the way out was something like "I don't want to wrestle". I don't remember Jordan, Kongo or Johnson wrestling with him. I loved his fights and he seems like a great guy, but I agree entirely with you.

Looks like being sent to Australia against his will, only to be sat on and knocked unconscious didn't sit too well with him. He's 5 foot tall, I say he should've had a chat to Mike Dolce and had a crack at 205 before throwing the toys out of the pram.

I made that call about 2 years ago, I would really like to see him try and make 205 :thumbsu:
