So who is the most underrated player in the AFL?

Actually, nevermind the title: just name someone who is a great footballer but doesn't really get the credit they deserve, they don't have to be the MOST underrated player.

For me: Nathan Jones- he's an inspiring footballer and proof that you can survive at melbourne. However he doesn't really get the accolades he deserves outside his football club. I recon he's an A-grade midfielder but the media seems to think it's just because he tries hard (he does) but he's also quality: when I watch melbourne games he often outperforms the opposition's elite mids winning the contested possession for the team (although against carlton he actually didn't seem to be getting contested possessions). I hope he's getting paid $1.5mill per year. Since he's recognised as melbourne's best mid he can hardly be considered the MOST underrated player in the AFL cause he is rated pretty highly, but still largely underrated.

So, name someone you want to see get the recognition they aren't getting atm

Never gets the credit that other big power forwards get and unlike many higher paid and higher profile players, he does. not. miss. It's a quality that is so freaking valuable in the modern game. Oh, and he's leading the Coleman.

From Essendon it's definitely Cale Hooker. Most people know how good Jones is, he's like Watson in the Knights era. I'd have to say Nick Smith is also very underrated

I say nathan jones because despite being BOG in 2/4 matches melbourne played in this year, he didn't make the rolling AA on the sunday footy show. Also I think he's a top 10 player in the afl but most people don't seem to think he'd be top 20 so for me he's underrated

Imo Brett Deledio has always been underrated, I worry more about him than Cotchin, personally always seen him as a weapon anywhere on the ground, think he's previously been coached in a poor manner but he's A grade material.

Also, Nathan Jones is a shining light for Melbourne but he's definitely not in the top 10 players! Top 30 is a possibility but for me I'd say between 40-50 at a quick guess.
