Less time, plane trip from the west, record of 5 losses from 6 games( only win being against GWS) after returning from WA or SA.

A win by one goal is good enough.

It's ironic, this time last year, maybe a few rounds more advanced into the season, we faced you guys in a game where, if we won, we'd be announcing ourselves as a legitimate Top 4 contender and would have gone 10-4 or something like that. And at that time, the Kangaroos were being smashed from pillar to post by the media for underperforming against good opposition, and beating up on the shit teams, much like us this season (although we're arguably going worse, because even last year you guys were still beating teams like the Dees and Bulldogs lol :()

This year, the shoe is completely on the other foot, so it will be interesting to see if we can respond the way you guys did that day (pretty sure you absolutely caned us that day, won by about 10 goals), and also how your team will respond with the added pressure of being massive favourites against a team like us, who whilst not in spectacular form at the moment, still have the capacity to play exciting footy on our day (similar to your guys last year).

Should be an interesting game to watch! I'm hoping for a competitive showing from our boys, but I reckon you guys will do what we couldn't do last year, and get the 4 points quite comfortably! :(

Hopefully we do something different re. recovery from last time, as we didn't fire a shot against Gold Coast.

Make changes if we need to. There's enough staff that spend enough time with the players to identify if they are flat or sore. We can't put up another listless display in front of our home fans like we did coming back from Perth last time, 6 day break or not.

A lot will depend on whether Richmond turn up. At the moment Richmond want to lose. If they're on then they have the stars to just take the game away from us. Whoever turns up wins - if we both turn up then I expect a good contest.

Smashing is the wrong word.

Richmond will throw everything that they have at us. There is a lot of acid being thrown on them right now. If they are ever going to play for their coach its going to be this weekend.

We need to start this game well. There can be no lag, we can not allow them to get the jump on us, and they are going to come out firing.

I will take a win in whatever shape it appears.

Talk of smashing anyone is premature.

Can't believe some of you are worried about this game. This is gonna get ugly real quick. We are in a world of pain.

You're having a bad year but there are enough effective players to sit us on our arse very quickly if we go in expecting it a fair accompli.

This is a very good game to get this week. Richmond are a yo-yo like us and we'll learn early f our players yet again underestimate an opponent they should account for in terms of public expectation.

lock this thread. Has egg on face all over it.

Richmond are going to cop it left right and centre this week. They will come out breathing fire, and they have the a-graders in cotch, riewoldt, and deledio to hurt us. If we don't show up like we have in the past The gigs are 100% a big chance to beat us.

We really need to put them to the sword this week. It will really kick start our second half of the season and will announce us as a contender. Richmond lacks any confidence at the minute and I really want to see us back up a great win this time.

Come on North, be ruthless!

Let's just play the best we can ...

There might be a difference between 'is a must' and 'is a certainty'. I'm hoping there isn't an ingrained expectation of victory that would've been more obvious in previous threads.

This game smells of 2009.

Wallace had been under immense pressure as Richmond slipped to 0-4, the media were all over it and were bashing the crap out of them from pillar to post.

A lot of people were calling for his head.

Fast forward

On the back of your first finals appearance in forever this season is all but shot to shit. Hardwick is under a huge amount of pressure. Tiggers fans up in arms, lots of talk about premature extension to his contract.

If you team are ever going to come out hungry for redemption it'll be this week.

North need to be on right from the get go, or you will get the jump and we will be chasing tail all day.

We need to pay respect to the situation that Richmond find themselves in right now, and expect because they are being backed into a corner that they will come out swinging.

Nice to meet you, we're North Melbourne.
