By that screenshot Dal Santo is well in the conversation too.

I think the point is that Selwood is down this year. I don't think that he is a lock by any stretch.

They have had good "very improved" seasons, but people thinking they are AA level is laughable.
Not sure what others have said, but I've done no different to others here, making potential claims for AA players.

Gray (lock to date) (Gray and or Breust) for the fwd position(s)
Boak
Ebert(dropped off last two weeks)
Trengove/Carlile.
I'd say these are the best chances in our squad.

Schulz was in and now out of contention to date. Can get back in though, but has to rise above the other in form forwards.

can people stop saying 'lock'?

there are no locks
Lock to date ok? meaning up to this round they are a lock for the squad given continuation of form. Certainly not an AA lock until at least round 17-18

Since we're going off statistics, West Coast legend and the only John Worsfold medalist Matty Priddis would be a lock in the 40 man squad at this stage.

10th in the league for Disposals
7th in Tackles
5th in Contested Possessions

67 Disposals,17 tackles and 4 goals in the last 2 weeks.

Lock him in.
Not trying to stir up, but the problem with Priddis is, that he gets a lot of little handballs, that don't go anywhere. (they don't hurt you). Quality; not quantity. Good getter of the ball, but doesn't take it anywhere when he gets it. at least from what I've seen.

Only 1 player in the game is a lock Ablett, Pendles the next... everyone else not a lock

Dal Santo hasn't played in defence all year
You must be blind.
AA selectors luv to pick primo midfielders at HB when they can. Free's up another midfield slot.
In a similar way to McVeigh and Mitchell last season, Dal Santo only needs spend part of his time back there and thats where they'll likely pick him. He'd be a likely at this point even in the midfield, but if he keeps this form going i reckon they'll pick him HBF.
B Harvey must be luvvin him. Dal Santo has come in and taken a lot of the heat...Harvey i;d pick AA also.

I was the taking the mickey mate.

Obviously Priddis isn't actually one of the top 10 mids in the game.

Like most, I don't see enough of the other teams to get a good insightful look at who should shouldn't.
I did however have a look at the AFLCA voting for Port Adelaide to get an idea of what the coaches think.

Boak has 4 perfect 10's (top votes from both coaches)
Gray has polled in 8/10 matches to date.

They're the two most likely AA's from Port IMO. Funnily enough I don't think that Wingard has been consistent enough this year. Not a popular opinion, but one nonetheless. Maybe he jumped over the "star" threshold that where perception of consistency is blurred by sheer brilliance of the highlight reel and the outstanding performance of the team?

Hibberd not even considered?

Having another attempt, this is what I have:

Carlile - Hooker - Hibberd
B Smith - Taylor - Birchall
D Beams - Boak - Selwood
S Johnson - N Riewoldt - Gray
Bruest - Hawkins - Schulz
Sandilands - Ablett - Pendlebury
Kennedy - Jones - Rockliff - Cornes

Steve Johnson and Joel Selwood havent been that good, if they make it with form similar to there current, ill shit brix.

Would've thought Talia was the pick for CHB over Taylor.
Then again I'd go Carlile or Mackenzie at FB and either Hooker or Talia at CHB.

I'm actually surprised a fair few people have been including Birchall. He's gotten a lot of the ball, but i don't think he has been his usual damaging self. Excluding last year when he was injured, i think this has been his worst year for 3 or 4 years, although he was extremely good in those other years. IMO Burgoyne is far more deserving of a spot, and could easily make it on the HBF.
