Heres a novel idea. Get Voss, to teach these mids how to compete for the pill and then spread from a contest and what it takes to do this.

Petterd is a HBF can't see either of Sewell or O'Keefe playing there. Foley has pace, Sewell and O'Keefe are slow. The only option then is Thomas and if we're replacing a 27 year old with a 32 year old we may as well ask start making room for another spoon in 2015.

Petterd has been playing a scary amount of time in the middle lately... and pretty sure the way Petterd plays HBF, O'Keefe could do it, not saying that's where he will play. Foley HAD pace, and whatever pace he has left he rarely uses.. and comparing what Sewell or O'Keefe bring to the table compared to Thomas.. well that's your opinion..

I'm not against giving guy like ROK and possibly Sewell a season or two. We need something to change at tigerland and getting guys like Petterd, Lonergan, Thomas and Chaplin.

Its entirely possibly to draft well and top up a little, we ourselves have proven it since Dimma came on board getting Ben Miller, Grigg, Houli and Maric all the while picking up Conca, Ellis, Vlas, Lennon, Madonna, McBean, Elton and Miles.

At least if ROK and Sewell are there they'll know what the acceptable standards of a top club are and impact that on the younger brigade.

Firstly they wouldn't cost anywhere near that amount but I guess you are being sarcastic...
Secondly they are not currently on our list and guys like Arnot and O'Hanlon aren't getting games sadly they haven't been good enough.. even though I would like to see them get a game before the club makes a decision on them.. but if someone is knocking down the door in the reserves they will play..

Seriously I just don't get this stuff with Sewell and O'Keefe. The same people calling for them to be recruited would be among the first asking why the hell we did bring them in if we're still struggling next year. Old campaigners are not the answer especially when we have spent the better part of this year complaining about the recycled players we already have. Forget this idea of recruiting old recycled types and make do with the ones that we already have and then as they come out of contract move them on and replace them with kids. As Dan Richardson said on 3AW earlier today we had to go down the path we did because we needed to make out list competitive. Now we need to make our list one that is good enough to win finals, not just be competitive.

If we are going to be throwing cash around I am going to stake my claim and say we need to throw it at a leader from a successful club. We have good players but we can't keep looking for players who have come from clubs that have no winning culture. Our recruits have been part of Mid tier sides or bottom rung sides. I really wanted Chapman (I hate the bald headed prick though) because he could have rightly gone to the tigers and (i hope) talked up about the winning Culture that was created at Geelong.

But none have been onfield to do it.

One of the biggest influences this club has had in the last 5 years was a 2 year stint by Ben Cousins. He put the onus back on Deledio (along with Rawlings), and a big influence on Martin and Cotchin.
