The Suns are going to beat Collingwood at Metricon next week but Port will do us a big favour and smash Essendon while Hawthorn will also do us a favour and beat North so provided we get off the roller coaster we will be in the eight next week!!

North have about 10% on us so that suggests they'll have to suffer a pretty hefty loss whilst we'll need a pretty big win ourselves. Gold Coast and Collingwood is as 50/50 as it gets and it'd be preferable if Collingwood do win that given GC's percentage in comparison to ours.

Depending on who comes up, I will watch the replay but live Reillly was shit.He has to go, his first quarter was woefull. Such a waste of game time when he plays.

Completely agree. Reilly was terrible tonight. Pressure, DE%, decision making... I would like to think he has played his last game for the AFC. He's had too many chances.

Would love to see Matty Crouch come in and play with his brother. Not sure who would go out though, and it's not worth making a change just to be cute.

So, OUT: Reilly
IN: Hendo.

Only 5% actually, that's nothing.

So no one has Rutten coming in? Luke Thompson will be smashed against Patton, Rutten is the perfect match up for him IMO.

It doesn't seem like Kerridge or Laird will come up and Henderson won't come back in so Mackay and Rutten in for Thompson and Lyons/Porps

I've suggested Hartigan may be needed due to match-ups (Rutten same point).

What I would do (fully aware that it won't happen):

Out:
Dangerfield (rest / various injuries), Walker (as stated by Sando a few weeks back, the 6 day breaks mean he needs to miss a game and this is clearly the game), Reilly (omitted), Lyons (tough on him, but that's 2 games in a row as sub which is a selection death sentence)

In:
Mackay (he's done nothing to get dropped and only missed due to concussion), Laird (presuming he'll be right - he's best 22), Grigg (we need those footskills like a fat kid needs cake), Atkins (chuck him in as sub and give the kid a taste)

Sub:
Atkins

* Henderson gets ONE more run in the SANFL before returning for the Hawks game
** Dangerfield gets a week off to enjoy non-stop ice baths before returning for the Hawks game
*** Porps and L Thompson (and Martin), despite nobody on planet earth really believing they are best 22, get rewarded for legitimately contributing to a great victory today
**** It's harsh, but Truck just can't really play unless we're playing against a slow behemoth forward line. Deserves a farewell game, but against GWS? No.
***** Reilly - no longer AFL standard
****** Kerridge - sounds like he could do with an extra week off
******* Richard Douglas - on notice. Is woefully out of form.
******** Seems pointless bringing Matt Crouch in when he'd likely be dropped the following week (again).

B: L Thompson Otten Brown
HB: Smith Talia Jaensch
C: Mackay Douglas Sloane
HF: Lynch Jenkins Wright
F: Betts Podsiadly Martin

R: Jacobs S Thompson B Crouch

Int: Grigg, Laird, Porplyzia, Atkins

Hopeful ins for the Hawks game would then be:
Dangerfield (freshened up), Walker (freshened up), Kerridge, Henderson

For four of (depending on performance against GWS):
Atkins, Porplyzia, L Thompson, Martin, Grigg, Podsiadly

I understand that essentially 'resting' Walker and Dangerfield in the same game may be viewed as not treating GWS with the respect they deserve, but both of them are absolutely crying out for it, and the blokes coming in for them will all be hungry to perform.

What will probably happen:
In:
Mackay, Laird

Out:
Lyons, Walker

Hopefully Mackay doesn't come back in. One of the reasons we won is we didn't have light-weights like him unable to break a single tackle and stepping down when it gets a bit tough. Can't have senior players who provide the opposite of on-field leadership.

Henderson in for Reilly would be a dream come true. Reilly was the odd one out in that second half and was even slower than usual.
Really harsh on McKay, he has been good this year. His role is different to what you are seeking. Hendo needs two more weeks.

Just win, no resting. Can't afford it. You blokes not remember last week? In makay out Reilly. Porps was excellent first half. Why was he picked over crouch? Great decision.

Noticed the TOG stats…apart from Lyons and Porps who wore vests, Reilly was the next lost TOG% by a fair margin.

Surely he's a goner?
And still managed to turn it over as much as he did?

With Thompson's good game, how about this:

Out:
Pods rested.
Reilly out.

In:
Rutten
M. Crouch/Kerridge

Otten moves forward and L. Thompson plays that third tall role on J. Cameron.
Porps moves to Reilly's role.
B. Martin to sub.
Cameron gets a game in the reserves before coming back in.

Depending on who comes up, I will watch the replay but live Reillly was shit.He has to go, his first quarter was woefull. Such a waste of game time when he plays.

Heed this advice, don't wear your steel cap boots whilst watching the replay. One quarter of Reilly will see you making the journey to Harvey Normans to get a new TV, though you should be able to get the cost back on insurance...pretty sure there is a Reilly clause

Surely Henderson for Reilly, SURELY! Some say he needs more time. Maybe, but GWS will be a decent game to come back, before he's laid out to the mercy of the hawks. Thompson stays in for me, absolutely nothing gained by bringing Rutten back in for him at all.

Out:
Porps (he played well, but again not much to gain by keeping him in unfort :( )
Reilly
Danger (he needs it, albeit his good game today)
Martin

In:
Henderson
Mackay
Laird*
Kerridge*

* - if fit

luke thompson was awesome but not sure if a real match up for him vs GWS. also less risky bringing hendo in vs gws to get up to afl standard than vs hawthorn I think, although I think this game will be a lot closer than many expect. also hate to say it (love ya porps) but should bring in charlie cameron for the porpoise we need his skill/pace for the rest of the season but i wouldnt be against porps playing more this year! also maybe hartigan in for otten? otten has been great but if talia plays on jeremy cameron then i cant see otten doing much vs patton. martin was also great but will need mackay who has been good all season on the wing. lyons looked great in the middle with some good clearances, do not take him out or start in green, start him on the bench and come on for a resting mid and show us what hes got. he has some great composure that we are lacking besides from thompson/crouch and sometimes douglas. assuming kerridge will be out next week from sandos presser. laird/wright tagging ward. use charlie as the impact sub to get his fitness up to standard for a big one vs the hawks!

in: henderson, laird, hartigan, mackay, cameron
out: L. thompson, reilly, otten, martin, porplyzia

Give grigg a run. I didn't think he played too bad before he was dropped early in the year and he's been emg/sub recently.
I know he wS quite last sanfl game, but if he gothis confidence up against gws he could be a good asset in the back half of the year

Defensive line-up very interesting for the next 2 weeks...

This week we have Talia v Cameron and then we need to match up on 2 more big guys (Patton,Boyd).

Then we have the Hawthorn line-up with Talia v Roughead, plus Hale, Gunston, Bruest.

The first obvious move is ditching Reilly. But then what?

If Hendo isn't back this week, I'd shuffle L Thompson into Reilly's spot, and replace Reilly with Hartigan or Rutten. LT can play tall or small and cn be there to cover on the big guys.

Can't see Hendo coming in this week...limited gametime so far, so I think he's at least another week away. Would keep Lyons in the team too, and maybe sub someone else (Porps or Cameron if he comes in). Minimal changes given it looks like Kedge and Laird will miss again.

Boyd didn't play this week just gone but if he does suspect we need 1 of either truck or hartigan to come back to play on Patton, not sure on LT strength (doesn't really deserve to be dropped though)
