Still, with £25m and champions league on offer we should be bringing in a world class player that's going to send Hendo to the bench.
If we do they will have to earn their spot, as Henderson did.

Not even sure I would play Khedira in front of Hendo. Vidal yeah, Pogba sure. Henderson had a terrific season and his skill set is perfect for what we try to do in the center of the park. No need to upgrade there.

No one's sending Henderson to the bench after the season he had, unless we're buying someone clearly better like Vidal or Khedira

That's my point, £25m should be getting us someone like that. Not Vidal, but Khedira or another world class midfielder should be possible surely.

I just don't think we're getting our moneys worth for some of our transfers.

Highly doubt we will go for a first team centre mid already having Gerrard and Hendo , with Can and Allen as backups. Unless we go for our marquee signing as someone like Vidal which is near 0%, then I doubt it'll happen. Although wouldn't mind going for someone like Javi Martinez who can play CB and CDM and is world class in both.

I would definitely like us to get Khedira just coz I'm a big fan of him, although after buying Can I don't think we'd be getting another midfielder

I'd like us to keep a hold of Lucas as well, coz he is the only genuine holding mid apart from Gerrard, but looks like we're trying to offload him

I would argue we should have more ambition and go for the bigger names, even at the risk of being rejected. We thought CL football would get us these big names, but our signings so far are probably ones we could've made anyway without it. In contrast the dirty Mancs are the ones going for the pipe dream world class signings even though they have no CL football

I like Hendo starting. Fantastic work rate and an important cog in our midfield. Would rather upgrade a few other positions than Hendo.

finally we'll have options. gone are the days of putting our best eleven players in the team and filling the bench with Ibe, Aspas, Allen, Lucas I mean no disrespect to those players but we couldn't really call upon anyone to change a game unless we rested Coutinho or Sterling and then we just alternated between them as impact subs. Markovic, Can, Lallana as well as Suso and Borini will all be ready for the first team without being heavily depended on.

a killer striker would still be great, still wondering whether Borini gets that important position in the team, I think he will. Remy coming in would kill Borini's chance of playing much wouldn't it? despite being in four competitions, we're still going to have a tight knit squad..

why would we want to send Hendo to the bench after that season. :\ let's stall his progress after his breakout year why don't we.. this is a similar situation to replacing Borini for mine, do we have faith in our young men or just go out there and spend millions of euros. I always want to back our men. I understand competition is healthy and all, don't get me wrong, but you have to understand the make up of our squad, we've got human beings to keep happy and we have a set up here already, you don't just go "woo hoo yeah boy let's shake things up a bit!!!!!" and bring out the checkbook.

Yeah we don't need a midfielder anymore, my point was that 25m should be getting us a better player than Lallana.

I'd spend the Suarez money on Shaqiri, Moreno and a right back. Keep the change for another transfer window.

Remy is very good, he can be Sturridge good, and at 8 million, we should definitely go for it

I still maintain we should sell Borini now, his value will never be higher than it is now. Sell him and get someone better, IE Remy

A left back, centre back, another striker and attacking player and we could be looking pretty good. Throw in a right back and it'd look great. We have the Suarez money, we should be able to afford all that

Moreno, Lovren (would prefer someone like Toprak who are better and cheaper), Remy, Markovic, Aurier and we'd have only spent 80 mil before sales. Still think we could buy another 25 mil player on top. Would love to go for someone like Griezemann or Shaqiri who already have class and loads of potential

You underrate Lallana. He will be a top player for us.

Suso will be this years Sterling if we keep him.

Just read Suarez' open letter to the fans.. Don't believe he wrote it or had any input. Don't really think he cares for anyone or any club other than himself. Respect his competitive drive and the best player I've seen for LFC, so good luck to him. But a putrid human and probably the most hated personality I've seen in the english game for a long time.

I think some people need to understand something about why we are not signing word class players. World class players go to world class teams. PERIOD. Just because we finished 2nd and have champions league doesn't entitle us to world club players.

To be considered a world class team you need to show potential world class players 3 things; ambition, vision and consistency. Liverpool now have ambition and vision. Now we need to show consistency.

We will not be able to sign world class players until we show consistency and especially in elite european competitions.

Ill forever love him, how can you not love probably the greatest player to ever play for your club. Dalglish and Stevie move over.

But do I want him to do well at Barcelona? Not really. Well I hope he personally does well. I hope he wins the Ballon D'Or which he is very capable of doing, I hope he wins golden boots in La Liga beating out Messi and Ronaldo but I hope Barca win **** all.

I hate Barcelona and Real Madrid. I hope Atletico somehow beats them to the title next season despite being cherry picked by Chelsea and other big clubs. I also hope we do a Michael Owen on Luis and go on to win the European Cup without him or win the League without him.

Owen regrets leaving Liverpool, Torres regrets leaving Liverpool. Now I hope we make Luis regret leaving Liverpool.
Sorry for intruding but how could you possibly say that Suarez is the greatest player for the club over the likes of Gerrard and Dalglish.

Gerrard has been at the club forever and has single handedly won you trophies. Has been there through the good and bad times.

Suarez might have better individual talent but I'm not sure that makes him the greatest player of your club. He was only there for a short time and mixed his brilliance with a lot of negativity.

I guess it depends on what your criteria is?

Fair call. Greatest was probably the wrong word.

Best is probably the right word. Sheer talent alone. He is the best player to ever play for the club.

But greatest. That's gotta be Steven Gerrard, followed by Dalglish, Barnes, Rush, Fowler, Hanson etc etc...

Flawed no doubt, but putrid human is a bit harsh.

He has a bad case of white line fever but off the pitch he's never assaulted anyone, never r*ped anyone, never done anything that's hurt anyone as far as I know. Just a guy with a hard upbringing who takes it a step too far sometimes when the competitive juices are flowing.

Markovic has arrive for his medical..

And an article in the echo says BR will definitely have access to the full 75m we got for Suarez and is already looking at striking options including Bony and Remy and both are believed to have buy out clauses. The article doesn't specify but from what I can gather Markovics spending was budgeted for outside of that 75m. I think maybe Lovren would be included in it though

Nah sorry but I stand by it. You don't have to rape or assault someone to be a rubbish person. The man is a 6 year old. Used to love watching him play for us, but he consistently embarrassed our club. His diving and theatrics is worse than Robben, his comments and way he tried to exit our club last summer I still haven't forgiven him for, consistently trying to play victim. And biting someone is an extremely low act and I will not hear white line fever as an excuse. You do it 3 times you need some serious councelling. Man is a rat. Great player, needs some serious self reflection as a person.

Where's Ibe at? Can he be this years Stirling?

Rodgers was absolutely raving about Ibe's performance in this game a month or so ago:

I definitely expect him to get a few opportunities this season. Rated extremely highly by the club, still only 18 and probably not at Sterling's level but certainly capable of playing for our first team. Going to be very valuable for us in the future, capable of playing on either wing or as a CF.

Thanks, everything I have seen I have really liked.
