A few articles on the Academy in the Liverpool Echo today. As expected Alex Inglethorpe has been confirmed as our new Academy director in a coaching reshuffle that also sees former FC Porto youth technical director Pepijn Lijnders arrive to take over the U16s:

I think we should seriously consider Chicarito as a Sturridge backup he works hard and would suit our pressing game. An upgrade on Borini and could be had for around 10m if the filth would do business with us.
Just wont happen mate. Liverpool and Manchester United dont do business.

Think we need to be facing the reality that we really could be getting Eto'o
Surely his wage demands will be scoffed at. Maybe we have a target in mind but cant get him for another year or so so we need a stop gap until then. Eto'o is pretty shit though, and old. Cant see FSG going for it.

Apparently Kolo Toure has turned down the move to Trabzonspor and will see out his 2 year contract this season. I dont mind that. Decent cover at centre half, particularly if Agger leaves.

Will most probably now see Toure and Johnson walk next summer.

Also Guy Poyet on Fabio Borini...

"I'm desperate [for it to happen] but it's still ongoing," Poyet is reported as saying in the Shields Gazette.

"You can always go and spend some millions on a player, but when you know the player the way I know Fabio, how professional he is, how much he cares, the positions in which he can play and what he brings to the team and to the group...

"He has plenty of things that I really, really like. He's professional and I think he would be fantastic for the group as well, not just because he scores goals."

I don't want Bony, doesn't suit our style and too similar to Lambert.

Impressed with the transfer work thus far, but will be very deflated if we sign Eto'o

Neither did Arsenal & Man United either. I know it is unlikely but it isn't impossible.
Any chance QPR would loan Remy out again?

James Pearce, The Liverpool Echo:
"The Reds have not made a contract offer to Samuel Eto’o. The 33-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Chelsea, has been considered as a stop-gap prior to Origi’s arrival at Anfield next summer.

But his age – and his wage demands – means Liverpool are currently pursuing other more attractive options. They would only look to Eto’o in the closing days of the window if their striker search has been unsuccessful."

I think at this stage we have to get a striker and wait for the next transfer window to get someone big.
Bony's stats are pretty good - 16 goals in his Premier League debut last season, 31 goals the year before in the Dutch League.
He is a good finisher.

Wouldn't mind him at all and with better service you just never know.

Do you have the stats on how many of the 16 and 31 goals were pens?

And they are...?
Wouldn't be that hard to find one, Eto'o isn't too handsome

Have only seen it in some shit sources like the mirror and whatnot but a few links to Giuseppe Rossi.. would be happy if there were some truth in that would be a really good fit here, although I think he has a 35m release clause.. would only want to pay about half of that.
