Slobbo 'reported' this:

"Patrick Ryder is gone; others might leave; players might take deals; Thompson might have packed his togs for Queensland; and Hird’s taking his life and reputation to the High Court."

Drunk ramblings vs Hirdy actually might do it? I'd honestly say it could be both.

Motherf***** would probably take this all the way to The Hague if he could. The public is in for some fun reading if he loses his appeals.

Bomber Thompson at last night's B&F: "I said to [former chairman] David Evans when [the supplements saga] started. I said right now is when we can actually build a great club because we knew we were going to get to this point at some stage," he said.

Come again?

So they too had heard all the rumblings six months prior? Probably explains why all their records mysteriously disappeared.

And that fact continues to be the central issue. How, exactly, can they prove that what was taken was not harmful?

Little reiterated the club's stance that the players had not been administered with the banned drug thymosin beta-4, nor any other "harmful or banned substances".

"Based on two years of extensive internal investigation, plus re-examination of all the evidence and information available, we at the club maintain our confidence that neither harmful nor banned substances were given to our players," Little said.

Re-examination of what evidence?! At best it might be inconclusive (as per 'no records').

That article.

That single most example of the wonder of the pen.

It reads like it was written by someone.

By someone that has, for some reason, and I'm not sure why.

Written by someone with an acquired brain injury.

Indeed. The primary issue here is borne out by one simple question. Do you really know what the players were given?

If the answer to that question is no then it does not matter what Dank says. It does not matter what *hird says. It does not matter what *little says. It does not matter what anyone associated with that *club says. They got caught up in an ACC investigation, ASADA got involved and now appear to have a chain of evidence linking * with the purchase of banned substances and strong circumstantial evidence of a culture similar to that in suburban gyms. And * expect everyone to take their word that they didn't take banned substances as gospel? **** me drunk.

But he'd never ever be asked to coach anywhere except *EFC so it's a moot point. He's not fighting for his future employment prospects. He is on an emotional quest to have a win over the AFL. And if he wants to throw away his own good money after bad forever, who cares? The issue is that his vendetta shouldn't be able to stop ASADA moving ahead with its process - and given Middleton's comments about not providing relief even if he found in *Hird and *Essendon's favour, it really should be decided that the SCNs have to go ahead regardless.

I take lots of notes but I am not at liberty to disclose who said *Jimmy was being made a scapegoat. OMG can we publish this thread as a book. I was reading it on my phone in bed this morning literally laughing out load many times

Another gem from the * fan-girl-lawyer

I believe NEITHER man is acting in the best interest of the players and club. I think Thompson is putting the club over a barrell with threats to leave if not given the senior gig. I also think Thompson has not been honest enough about his role in bringing Robinson (Dank) to the club. I think Thompson has been very happy to accept a promotion for something that he was JOINTLY responsible for, whilst watching the other half of the partnership be punted to the depths of hell. I believe Hird is acting in his own interests due to the terrible loss he has sufferred, understandable but ultimately not in the best interests of the players and club.

If I was counselling Hird, as a representative of the EFC, I would disagree with his decision to appeal. I would strongly advise him against it but ultimately I would honour his contract. I would hope that common sense would prevail. I would have made sure he was at the B+F.. I would have made sure that he felt part of the 'group' again. I would have made sure he received some positive feedback. I would have made sure that he FELT like he was going to be able to come back.

This all started when he came back from France and was told he was no longer welcome in the box. That was yet another insult and that is went all loyalties went out the window.

Those are my opinions, for the record. I hope that satisfies you.

Fair dinkum, that reads like a 12 year old girl who thinks she is as smart as an adult, writing a love letter to Justin Bieber after he's done something stupid in public again.

Deadset when Carey happened did we all carry on like dickheads or did we get on with it? I feel embarrassed for these adults in most cases who write such protective dribble. What ****ing idiots.

The Board acted like adults - there was some tinfoil hat wearers of the "Stevo's Wife is to blame" variety. Here the * Board have acted like fanbois - the decision to cauterise the wound rather than have the shit drag on for years has been proved to be the way to go. You know your administration is bad when an NRL club handles something better than you do!

The only thing approaching that, on our part, has been the pro-Carey ("we owe him, invite him back, bygones") mob versus the anti-Carey ("he damaged us irretrievably, he doesn't accept responsibility, I'll back Stevo/Arch") mob. And it registered "1" on the Richter scale of angst, versus the *essendon "9" on the scale.

It is their donial that is the lulz.

From the get go - should have been less #standbyhird & much more #wtfhaveyoudone

Hird has officially lodged an appeal against ASADA.

The legal experts at the * Board have advised that Hird "can finally tell his story on Dimitreou" and that he can call Steven Dank as a witness and that "his character will be vindicated" - I thought is was an appeal to the Full Federal Court on the question of law whether ASADA acted lawfully and within its powers - might be a special Prince Albert procedure

You could not make this shit up:

Okay, I'm hanging my hat on the theory that Hird doesn't want to coach anymore (could you blame him?) and is taking on ASADA solo with the boards "unofficial" consent so that the club can move on, Hird can expose the villainous treachery of the AFL and ASADA and Bomber can continue with their joint masterplan for premiership success. Little will pump money into the club to "pay out" Hird's contract and he will fight the good fight for the club as a "black-ops" mission.
who's with me?

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - how can that arise from the proceedings they comprehensively lost at first instance even if they do win

Shhhh.

There is no room for your facts.

Dave Culbert said right at the start that way too many footy club directors wear duffel coats, and most of *EFC's had number 5 on the back of theirs.

What are the grounds for an appeal?
They can only appeal the ruling made by Justice Middleton and his call on matters of law, so they must have some legal grounds to argue the validity of his calls. FWIW apparently appeals of this sort very rarely are successful.

According to *jimmah and the numpty PR machine this is for the players, to remove the stain of drug cheating from their future. Clearly they forget that there already is a process for this.
