Jones, Jaksch, Carlisle, anyone else?

Judd 30+, Simpson 30+, Carrazzo 30+
We need to bring in more mids. Midfields win premierships
Carlisle isn't happening.
Jaksch hopefully will get done.
Jones will be a late pick to experiment to see whether Mick and co can turn him around.

Ofcourse we need mids, but we do need an adequate replacement for Waite..

It was more in response to scenario of Carlisle for pick 7. Hypothetically this would clear our first three picks for talls and not add top-end midfield talent.
If we land Jones and Jaksch, we need to keep 7 for best available mid. Plain and simple

Terry Wallace just said we should burn our flag if we trade pick 7.

Oh dear me.

As much as we tried to convince him otherwise, yes.

Yup. We're making a stand on behaviour and attitude. I also think some of our senior players don't want to carry others anymore. All working hard, everybody on the same page, on field, on the track and off field.

So which 1 is it?....:D

Looking back at a draft and slotting the best player into the available pick is bullshit. Perfect 20/20 hindsight =/= realistic draft and NEVER occurs otherwise the best selection will always go #1 and picks after #30 would be useless as no decent players would be left.

Precisely. There will always be diamonds in the rough. But the probability of a top 10 pick bust <<<< finding A-grade talent in 20-40 range

Depends if you believe everything in the media.

or every posters interpretation! It's ok - I'm just being cheeky right now but you see how people read things differently. I hate losing good players or players that can add to the cause and Garlett can.

Why would you do that to the poor kid that will be chosen with pick 7? You're a monter

If he is on Carlisle, then he is a monter. Andrew Walker is the quintessential monter and Carlisle is the vehicle.

French Verb

monter
  1. to go up, to climb (go to a higher position)
  2. to ascend, go higher, go uphill, go upstairs
  3. to get on, get in (a vehicle)
  4. to rise (get to a higher figurative position (socially, or in a league/division etc.))
  5. to stage, put on (a show)
  6. to ride (a horse)
  7. to mount (a horse)
  8. to bring up, take up, put up, get up (lift or carry something to a higher position)

All of the above. Almost Freudian.

I'm just as upset as anyone - losing Jeffy sucks - just saying it's not as it seems. Somethings are better left private.

yeah nah... not what I'm saying.

Taking 2008, (simply because it suits my argument TBH), I'm saying there at at least 9 very good players taken BETWEEN 20 and 40 with Sloane at 44.

Using a range rather than a specific pick allows us to see beyong bias of individual recruiters and specific club needs to perceive value available at the relevant pick. I will conceed that it is skewed somewhat by the views and opinions that informed earlier selections in that draft.

Simply taking the result attached to a specific pick is even bigger bullshit.

Oh dear me.

Wallace also wants St Kilda to trump us for Jaksch. He also thinks Jaksch is a good fit for us.

So don't give up Pick 7. Saints to outbid us. Us to somehow still get him because we need him.

I think Wallace is looking to have a shot at us either way.

All for it, i'll get the petrol and the matches but what will we do with his body...... oh, our flag, sorry misread that sentence, can we settle on his vocal cords:)

I just keep coming back to Judd's buoyance about the team being on the same page. I keep coming back to leadership group comments about Robinson and Garlett having to earn trust. I feel that they feel they have very few opportunities to have some happiness at this club as they years tick by and the professionalism of certain players is finally taking hold. If you are not on board, there is no place for you. No more flawed excitement machines who are just as likely to drop their heads and let you down when it counts.

Certainly the club statements pre-trade period about being keen to move them on speak volumes. I'm not sure this is Garlett leaving and Carlton hoping he stays. I think it's mutual. We may hold on to one if we can get nothing done, but I think they'd be on the outer a little.

Ha ha. Terry Wallace the self proclaimed "List Manager guru".

Terry Wallace's performance at Richmond with first and second round picks:

2005
Jarrod Oakley Nichols
Cleve Hughes

2006
Jack Reiwoldt
Shane Edwards

2007
Trent Cotchin
Jordan McMahon

2008
Tyronne Vickery
Jayden Post

Two out of eight ain't bad! Ha ha.

But only if Jaksch wants to go to the Saints. I'm not sure why he would say 'one or the other'. Surely that just puts him in a worse position. Why not choose the club who offers the most money? Or the best facilities? Or the best chance at a flag?

It doesn't make sense for him to do that. I don't believe he has, anyway. I think he's chosen Carlton, and wants a deal done with us. All the evidence points that way.

Which means, we should get him for pick 28, all things being equal.

One of the players on the outer is seemingly pushing to earn back trust and become a better player for next season. Hint.....its not garlett.
