So this is what warren "Port Power" partland looks like.....no wonder he is jaded, the fat campaigner

warren_400x400.jpg

I don't think I've ever seen anyone who looks more South Australian than that. Cut his veins and he'd bleed West End Draught, and shit Spring Gully Gherkins. What a disgusting sight.

Sour or bitter gherkins?

Maybe I should take this to the unpopular opinions thread but for some reason the term 'Port Power' doesn't grate on me these days.

I even prefer the original logo to our current one. :o

Partland is an "SANFL 'til I die" ****wit and he means it as a deep insult.

Would he have fruchoc balls?

I know he means it as an insult, but I take the line of Rick Blaine in Casablanca:

He's a spitting image of the boss i had when i was working cash in hand as a meat packer in my teens & yes my boss was a west end draught chugger lol.

*I should add he was a pretty bloke though, can't say that for Partland

That picture is without a doubt, what I think of when I think of the quintessential crows supporting middle-aged male. The receeded hairline and baldness, the stupid beard, the tubby look and the "I have no idea about football" look.

that's what this whole thread is all about ;\

Yup, and the more people do his work for him the more this thread will live, breath and propogate. Never ending circle.

The sooner these smart-arse w***ers are put under pressure, the sooner they will be forced to change.

Do we think that by giving these mouthbreathers more validation will push them towards changing the quality of their work? Or maybe, the less relevant they become (by ignoring their obvious trolling) their bosses might just say well what you are doing isnt working, maybe we should try a different tack?

May surprise some but lately I've become mostly immune to the use of 'Port Power' by trolls. Sure Partland used it for a bite, like it's still 1999 or something, but that's not the truly offensive part of the story. I think we've won the War of the Names. All the names are generally understood across the nation to refer to the one club, in the sense of REH's German re-unification analogy, most non-footy folks now know 'Port Power' and 'Port Magpies' and 'Port Adelaide' all refer to the same club, for them it's OK, and the SANFL extremists are being drowned out by our national media coverage and they are slowly dying out as well. It's been one decade long war in the wider and longer war that we're also winning for 'general public' recognition of PB as a valid Port Adelaide strip at national level - on special occasions.

Anyway, for those who like me will not send a cent to Murdoch, here is the summary: Partland lumps Paddy wanting out of the Essenjection culture - and out of the blowback his family is receiving from Melbourne people - lumps it all in with the "bloody Gen Y" player overthrow of coaches at the Cows and the Dogs. Then claims pick 17 is a pittance.

Actually, **** it, this is a good thing. I like Cow apologists and anti-Port-ers that manage to do nothing but prove the stereotypes about their own club.

Our next ambush advertising campaign needs to include "The Team For All Generations".

I will always cringe at the Port Power name, it will always remind me of our 'bend over and take it' era. Not a proud period for our club...and they know it. Still we should keep our heads high and just march on..don't give the fools the satisfaction

I used to wonder why folks at the Fertilizer never change even though surely no Port supporters buy it anymore. Sadly, that's it: no matter what you and I do, the story will get more 'hits' from desperate-for-schadenfreude Cows fans than from Port fans, neutrals or non footy people. Clicks from Port people or clicks generated downstream by outrage from Port people are "upside" for him, I think that's your point.

Thing is, Partland doesn't play to his audience, his is of his audience. IMO nothing will improve his work. Even if his job wasn't "insured" by all the knitting needles out there I want him more embarrassing and hysterical (tending towards "Stupid" at the limit) rather than faking positivity or impartiality to Port.

If Partland is a sort of firebug by nature, we're duty bound to build firebreaks rather than ignoring the fire. Paraphrasing/quoting of the bloke with our responses included, and spreading online our version comes with a responsibility to find anyone that still buys that rag or subscribes online and to talk them out of it.

Is there a link to the article from Partland?

Says it all.

People hint/discredit it here but for every 'firebreak' we create, three shooting embers cross the firebreak.

I h8 the bullshit that these scumsuckers promote. But as long as they get a reaction, positive, negative, supportive, contradictory for them its simply being able to point to the fact that their work is relevant. And whilst it is, it will continue.

Unfortunately its not just the anti-Port media, its a common theme in most aspects of todays media saturated world.

When was the last time a thought provoking, accurate investigative piece of media was seen? Its easier to write/ create 'opinion' pieces that outrage the masses at which these scumsuckers can then point their bosses/editors/potential advertisers to. See, look how many people i reach with my abilities. **** off you campaigners.

I know i'm in the minority, i know its hard to not react to outright garbage but i do wish we could all just ignore it and in effect use our actions to push for better media performers.

I can only wish I suppose.

I live in WA mate, don't read the paper and get nearly all of my footy news on here (WA media is as bad as SA), just wanted to see what it said so I could form my own opinion. I don't know who this bloke is.

As long as people ITT continue to read and tune in to the SA media, even to just come back here and tattle about how dumb it is, nothing will change. You're giving them the audience figures they want and the word of mouth spreading their brand.

Mate, not having a go at you in particular. Its more about the way a crap article is written to get a reaction, its hinted at here in a thread and it spreads. Its how these scumsuckers work.
