You're not related to Jason Winderlich are you?
God l hope not and l come from a family whose grandfathers fought for the Germans in both wars.

Would rather keep Harper. Might only get 1 good year out of Cooney. Brad Scott said at the B&F he was not taking short cuts for a premiership, and was going to leave the list in good shape. List seams to be getting older and older.

Yeah im agreeing with most it might give harps a fresh start and easier to get a game at the dogs.. He still has alot to prove and hasn't exactly been killing it in reserves... If he goes and does well i wish him all the best!

I remember this twat saying something very similar last year re Dal..wouldnt trust his info

Twats are useful. Just sayin' ;)

Stevo who doesn't even know what's happening at the Bulldogs or Nick at AFL.com who has an assigned beat to the club hmmmmmm let me think who am I gonna believe on this one

The deal will be good, we have a guy who has struggled to play for 2 years and when he has played he does nothing, bring in a proven ball winner with class in the meantime upgrading our picks. We finished in a prelim final, got Waite, Higgins, Cooney and recruit 3 players inside the top 30.... Not bad at all.
Are you saying we are getting 27 for 36 in the deal?

So, you're ignoring the draft picks then? Add class and pace through the midfield and forward zones and still have hopefully 3 picks inside 30. Seems legit to me.

According to Sam Landsberger the only confirmation is Cooney heading to North and the exchange remains a discussion between the two clubs but shouldn't be an issue.
So then it's not confirmed that Harper is part of the trade?

Yes i get the idea, we do have to be brave and go for it. We'll have a mini rebuilt after this 2-3 year tilt anyway.

Collingwood still have to pay more than pick 25 imo. If 36 is upgraded to 26/27 in the Cooney deal then Pies can upgrade our 3rd rounder to 30, leaving 4 picks in the top 30.

Don't worry, the club is in goods hands with Geoff Walsh. They have all been reminded that by getting these players a grand final ain't just going to happen. Remember we have a fair few young players who will push for spots next season, wood, garner, Dumont, turner, hopefully Mckenzie, and another 3 draft hopefulls. Based on hawthorn model.

It's always hard to accept when things don't go as hoped for. I remember when drafted Harper was described as a bit of an enigma who may or may not make it, but after some of his X-factorish moments, we were hooked. Since then, it has been a frustrating game of wait and hope with the calls of one more year from most on the board here to see if things can click whilst the North inner scrotum perhaps felt now is the time to cut the strings, while he can still attract interest. Logic (stupid invention that) says that his chances of pulling it all together on the back of another interrupted pre-season were always pretty slim. And with a kid called Turner, a class act called Higgins, a young gun called Garner, and a battler called Adams all ahead of him, it's a big mountain to climb.

So, sadly, this will become part of that collection of broken dreams, immortalized in those amazing goals, like those dashes down the wing by he-who-shall-not-be-named. I will cheer Harps on at the Doggies as we will our new Cooney, our very first numberone (albeit with a limp). And hope that it turns out a bit like the Schwass-Grant trade of years gone by.

Stevo's just a talking head wearing a nice suit and tie. He's from the Tim Watson/Luke Darcy school of potential Walkley Award winners. They wouldn't spot a story if a Martian bit them on the arse.

Sad to see Harps go, thought he was the future. Well, we'll just have to turn our attentions to the shiny new fast line breakers we draft this year, and if that's not enough, then bringing home the four points week in week out oughta do it.

at least we dont have varcoe.

With my blue and white glasses I hope not.. Harps to have a Shagga like career with the Dogs?

So we have got Higgins and maybe Cooney and lose Harper and end up with 3 picks in the top 30? Good deal im happy with that!
