But who will GWS add to four? Needs a quality player but no one is jumping out. They should send their pick in the 40s either to us, or to Sydney for Biggs. But that deal still needs a quality player.
Again, Biggs comes for nothing.

Let's all have a big sook
It worked for our senior players
Maybe it will work for the club too
Let's have one big cry
Gws won't play with us
Afl won't is auckland
This time last week we had a team and a coach bahabaha

The afl should be intervening right now to get 2 players who want to swap clubs, to SWAP CLUBS!

Interesting no requests for arbitration and also silence, says to me negotations are progressing. GWS have also shut down interview requests from Damo (much to his chagrin)

GWS will probably take Wright in the draft just to continue their childish games.

They could just make it easy. Give us Boyd and trade in wright to replace him.

I don't get this reasoning that not taking obvious unders for Griffen would be a disaster.

Show weakness and you are open to all predators including within your own club.

He is a contracted club captain, our best player and in the best 20 in the competition.

If he is not traded for unders, we may risk wright having 6, we may not, but we will not have backed down to GWS, so next year trying to get Boyd we can say deal or PSD you lose him anyway and Griff can work out if he wants an AFL career.

Too many are looking at this from a GHWS point of view. Do you think clubs around the top 4 would not be putting in offers for Griff to at the end of next season? At this stage there are still compensation picks, we may get close to 4 again next season or better depending on where we finish.

But to say not get any deal is a disaster is not true, caving in is a disaster

But I'm not saying we should cave in. At the moment its been reported that GWS have offered us pick 4 for Griff and 6 which I would not take at all. I think they will cave in and give us a much better deal than that (just not with Boyd) so i don't see it as us being weak. To me that would not be unders for Griff and would be a good deal for us as we would still be front runners for Boyd next year. I just don't think it shows weakess, we have come out and got their number 1 pick to commit to us. Whether that happens this year or next its a bloody big statement and shows our intent. Get a good deal with Griff and get the cancer out of our club and its still a win. We will still be in a great position to get Boyd next year, I don't think it should Boyd or Bust.

Getting Walker on top of Boyd would be a huge trade period. We know have two legitimate marking threats to kick to with one having potential to be the best forward in the comp. Would push Crameri and Stringer to 3rd + 4th talls making them a lot more dangerous and our fwd line set up looking great for the future.

Stringer / Walker / Dahl
Crameri / Boyd / Hunter

With a huge range of guys to rotate through. Dahl is already a star and Hunter I believe will become a very good player with a few more games into him. Have Bonts, Rat, Honey, Harper*, Dickson, Grant etc rotate through there when their form is good enough and that is a forward line that could take us somewhere.

What really irritates me about this whole situation is fine they don't want to give up Boyd and prevent an exodus situation happening. All about sending a message to their young players. But picks 4 and 7 as they currently stand for GWS aren't actually worth picks 4 and 7. Jono O'Rourke was a number 2 pick, Dom Tyson a number 3 pick and guys like Plowman, Buntine, Corr, etc are all first round top 15 picks. But all of these guys have either dropped in actual trade value or are well on the way for getting traded for a pick of much less worth than what they were drafted in as. Good chances are that if GWS take 4 and 7 into the draft, then unless its for a player from NSW they not only won't get the game time due to these early draft picks having more preseason and the experienced players coming in, but they will walk out and they won't get anything of value in return to what they drafted these kids in.

Just give us boyd and prove that you can obtain star players without the big money and without the AFL giving the clubs which you stole the player from, the compensation they deserve.

How does Griffen get $2M for sitting out for two years? Griffen couldn't be paid for those two years.

Do you really think that GWS will offer $1M per year to a 30+ year old who has chronic back problems and has sat out of the game for 2 years? Why would Griffen even want to go to GWS if they promise him the earth and he ends up missing two years of footy, misses two years salary and ends his career as a laughing stock.

Sorry miss a word it changes the meaning, it will cost Grif $2m to sit out that's why he won't do it.

Of course he won't do it. He won't even sit out a year. A deal will be done and he'll end up at GWS - I'm very, very sure that cool heads will ultimately prevail.

Surely this has to be happening, its such a unique situation involving a club captain that the AFL have to intervene. How the AFL could have two players playing for clubs after requesting to go to each other clubs would be a ridiculous and farcical situation. They just have to get involved and get something worked out, it been in everyones best interest.

Their whole approach seems illogical and largely motivated by spite.

Who knows maybe there is a rocket scientist hiding behind those close set eyes??

Pity he hasn't used any of that intelligence during the 2014 season.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned by someone, but Chris Pelchen told SEN that St Kilda have received three offers for pick 1 today.
Will be interesting to hear from who, and in exchange for what.
You can bank on one being from GWS. Probably for 4 and 7.

I would agree - except both players are contracted.

It suits the AFL to have this whole thing fall over to some extent to maintain the "integrity" of contracts and send something of a message that it is very difficult to achieve a transfer while under contract to your club.

Jasksch deal done, P19 off the table.

Starts to get tricky now, if the intent was to give up P6 and Griffen.

multiple picks inside top 15. That gives GWS, Gold Coast and us (exploring options if we get picks for Griff)
