Played midfielder in TAC, Played forward for willy and played back for footscray
Pearce can play at any end.
Or can play at no ends, if you want to be cynical.

Noticed Greenwood training in the Stringer video so looks like he will be sticking around.
So we will be picking up 2 rookies. I wonder who?

Delisted Sam Grimley? (See draft thread)

I agree - although I'm sure I've read a few posts on BF about him not being quite up to AFL standard. For me he fits the age profile, and has been in a good system; his VFL games were good to all accounts (that I've read about or seen replays of), could be wrong though...

Would love to get Grimley he is very athletic and I sound a bit like a broken record but I reckon he would go well as a Key Defender has the athleticism, pace and size to pull it off.

Looks like Macraes had another growth spurt, posted by the FB page 'Totally legit AFL rumours' so it must be true!

BREAKING: Jackson Macrae of the Western Bulldogs is looking to be the next best ruckman after another growth spurt. Macrae underwent a huge growth spurt in 2014 which saw him hit 1.91m and establish himself as a tall inside midfielder. Now, Macrae stands at 2.52m and has broken the world record of the world's tallest man by 1cm. He now stands a whopping 42cm taller than Fremantle ruckman Aaron Sandilands.

I really hope we pick up jordan Schroder, I think he will add to our young gun midfield. We need another hard big bodied midfielder Especially if bonts moves up to the CHF role many are predicting.

Great we have drafted a small floating blue dot.

The blue dot was outstanding at the draft combine. It is an inside midfielder, and as you can see has delivered the ball perfectly to Hamling. It is also multi-talented, as it setup the potato camera on a tripod, then rolled quickly to get itself back in the frame with Hamling. It's uncle Dot-to-Dot is also a potential assistant coach, as he is able to join all the dots to create a winning game plan...

Fair enough. If he has a great career, many of us will probably be disapppointed. If he disappears without a trace, it will be "Jayden who"?
I agree, fwiw I actually don't mind what he shows, but as I preface most things, there are those earning big dollars to look at these kids a lot more, and a lot more closely, than all of us.

Chance of a rookie with us I'd imagine. Would be a cheap pick up for a guy who might be able to play a few games this year.

I think if he gets a good run in the big league it would fast develop him into a serviceable player for us thats capable of playing 100-150 games for us. Fingers crossed we pick him up! There are alot worse rookies we could pick up after all. At least he shows some good old red white and blue mongrel in him unlike some of our delisted and traded players

Jordan Schroder (born 5 December 1992) is an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Drafted from the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup[1] with the 54th selection in the 2010 AFL Draft, Schroder made his debut for Geelong in the AFL in their Round 10 match against Greater Western Sydney.[2]

In 2013 he was one of three players who tied the J.J. Liston Trophy. He tied with Steve Clifton (North Ballarat) and Mitch Hallahan (Box Hill Hawks) all on 17 votes. [3]

Schroder was delisted at the conclusion of the 2014 AFL season. [4]

Apologies if this was raised in the last 12 hours, but this was posted on the site yesterday...

Brett Goodes and Alex Greenwood have also been granted to permission to train at Whitten Oval in the ensuing weeks.

Goodesy a chance for a Rookie spot, maybe?

yeah it was, just in the pre-season thread

it'll depend who is left over after the national draft and who hasn't been picked up that has been delisted

Really like the sound of Schroder. Hard nut, great speed and strength according to his profile on the Cats website - seems a no-brainer to me.

I would be more than happy to take him at 46.

Yeah, maybe. Just seems a likely type and seems strange the Cats de-listed him. Certainly would take him over Greenwood or Goodes again.

Not disagreeing with that, but not with Pick 46 in the main draft.... My personal opinion is that we continue to get the maximum number of talented, hard working kids on the list - and develop the bloody hell out of them.

If we need top ups, use the rookie list for players to give a second chance or who have struggled through injury.

We need to be careful, the Cats have one of the best development systems going - but they've let him go... We've fallen into this trap so many times lately - lets not overpay here.
