What is the EPL equivalent of North?
Colors-wise it has to be Huddersfeild Town.

And this is their unofficial anthem. (equivalent of "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Forever Blowing Bubbles")

"Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..."
70's? 90's?

But yeah as B Tron said, performance-wise it's probably Everton.

I grew up watching United and have been a fan since Gordon Strachan and Bryan Robson were running around for them, Liverpool were the greatest club in England and Sir Alex Ferguson was still north of the border working his magic with Aberdeen. United have been a big club for a long, long time and the basis for their current overall strength is not on the back of oil money, but on the back of success built and paid for by the club and its supporters. That they have been able to harness that during a period in which ridiculous amounts of money have been pumped into the game is a clear case of business acumen and making hay at the right time. Yes, United have a truck load of debt thanks to the Glazers using the club to pay off their takeover, but the business was always capable of supporting itself and growing without the input from oligarchs, sheiks and bankers. To say that this club is more generic than the blue crew is to thumb your nose at history and fact.

People may get all whiny about United scoring undeserved late equalizers in 'Fergie Time' but if you are still pushing hard in the 90th minute you deserve whatever success you may have in that period. If more teams showed more belief and fight perhaps they too would pinch equalizers and winners at the depth, instead of whining about it. United are playing some average football at the minute and folk like to kick them when they are down, no problem there. But if their teams cant close out a game when leading in injury time perhaps they should be looking at what they are doing and not at some imaginary influence on the game.
I hate united and fergie (especially after he knocked back the Arsenal job despite verbally agreeing to it before he went to United. Still happy with Graham and Arsene) but they deserve respect from the football world. Fergie wrote the blue print on how to beat Arsenal and would do so with a team full of reserves on the odd occasion. I'm very glad sir red nose has pissed off.

I think Beckham and Ronaldo were very beneficial for Man U from a marketing sense. Most of all they were big when it mattered and are now reaping the rewards of ridiculously good sponsorship deals.

They've been winning late for years and must draw confidence knowing they are never out of it.

That's how you do with picking EPL sides, they have got to have a bit of personality.
That's true. Though I mainly picked Chelsea out of spite for all the Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal flogs. As an 11 year old this was a valid enough reason. If I had just learned about the game and was picking a team now I would likely have chosen a different club, but 8-9 years of supporting CFC has ingrained it in me now and it's been one hell of a ride.

Know a guy who used to rock up to bars and clubs wearing his Chelsea shirt and tracksuit pants. Then wonder why he used to get refused entry. :D

Trackie dacks are a no no!

I have always wondered why no one ever really pushed the colour association with Aussie Rules

ie Blue and White and Greeks.
There is something like 3-4 generations of us Greeks that were born here.. So just like everyone we picked teams depending on what suburb we lived,Followed who their fathers barracked for or wanted to be different and pick a team that had nuthing to do with any of these things.. Funnily enough i have alot of Bombers relatives!

Nothing makes me angrier than thinking about how ******* stupid those in the British high command were.

Literally ******* ******ed.
The Turks were thinking the same with the german high command. Many of the German officers treated their Turkish charges fairly poorly.

Just read on the Pies board that Nathan Freeman (0 games, 0 average possessions, 0 average possessions in finals) is the equal of Sam Gibson (60 games, 24 touches per game in 2014, 27 touches per game in finals) and Matt Scharenberg is better than Jamie Macmillan.
