Was that Aaron Youngs Break-out game ?

fairly slim build but not small. Very strong through the core, stands up really well in tackles for a guy of his build. This is an aspect of his game that I really like.

Requesting slow mo gif of Young celebrating the goal that put us in front.

Sent a shiver down my spine.

You ain't seen nothing yet. Youngy should never play SANFL again.

I've believed in him ever since that Richmond game a few years ago.

Surprised he didn't start Round 1 or 2. Been in great form during the pre-season. Probably his best game to date given the circumstances. He hadn't had too many opportunities to start against strong opposition and solidify his spot in the team. Hopefully he can do that now.

One of the best players in our team at getting the ball from the bottom of a pack, lifting his arms out of the tackle and dishing cleanly to a teammate.

Has a good goal sense.

He's a generally good player, but the primary and secondary strengths there lift him above a vanilla midfield/flanker to a player that can actually do a lot of damage for us. I hope he keeps his spot for good.

when asked by (non PAFC supporter) mates about which power player they should include in their dreamteam comps as a roughy, i say youngy.
this was probably his breakout game SO FAR. def feel more to come...

Certainly has a great opportunity for himself to display what he can do as a midfielder now with Wines' layoff. Like Andrew Moore and Paul Stewart has kind of suffered from being a bit of a nomad, almost too versatile for their own good. Their versatility benefits the team greatly, but hampers each of them in being able to find a defined role in the side. Well, now the chance is there for Young and hopefully he will continue to grab it as he did on Saturday night.

FWIW I would not be giving up on Moore so easily either.

A breakout game is one where the player in question is a standout because everything finally clicks into place. What Young did on the weekend means he's best 22 for the moment, but not undroppable - he's had games like that before.

He's got the capability of being the Robin to Gray's Batman at clearances - if one doesn't get you, the other will.

Young has been that good for a year or so. He is capable of that week in week out. So not a surprise or "breakout" in my eyes.

Been a massive fan of Young from day dot...

So much so it was a toss up between Big Matty Thomas (BMT) and Big Aaron Young (BAY)

......i chose wrong:oops:

But you ended up with the BMW so you are not that far off the mark! :D

Youngs just a younger version of Dom

With respect to Dom, Youngy is overall, a more talented player then Dom.

According to AFL Player Ratings it was his career best game. It was also Pittard's too.

Young has always been good in my opinion. just doesn't get as many opportunities.

Him running in to kick that winning goals brought back memories of when he ran into the open goal last year I think it was, and kicked a point haha

Against Geelong I think? Hit the post from 15 out haha

... What does everyone think? ..... I hope it was his breakout game .....
As far as I'm concerned he'd already made his name, but then been cruelled with a long layoff with injury. He played well, but no better than we already knew he could. I've been a fan for a while.

.... If Moore can do the same we'll be very solid.
Moore can't do the same, he's a handy backup player but not a potential 1st 22.

ive always thought he had some crazy ability to get the ball, but ive always thought he looked too stiff to be effective. Great game on saturday, hopefully keeps going. He is an absolute mystery as to what his ceiling is.

Yeah I've stated for a while now I think our teams weakness is a very good pack extractor to help wines, boak and Gray. We really needs youngys work around the packs.
