Who are the "un-booable" characters of the AFL?

If you are getting old and your team boots you (possibly before your time), then you can't begrudge that player from trying to extend their career somewhere else.
In Crossy's case even if he left earlier I doubt Bulldogs fans would boo him - champion bloke on and off the field, gets the most out of his ability.
Don't remember anyone booing Dylan Addision - another who gets the maximum out of the ability they have.

Rory Sloane is the poster-boy for this thread, surely.

Garbage. (Lindsay) Thomas is not booed every time he touches the ball. Either is Harvey. What exactly are you watching?

Maybe he should be....

Also, Lindsay is often booed when he hasn't touched the ball. And an opponent hasn't touched him either. In fact the only contact seems to be between an umpire and his whistle :D

I think the most important thing is that if you're a grown man who actually yells the sound "Booooo!" at the football, you probably are a bit dim. Yelling something out - okay, if you want, but actually going "Booooo"? What are you, five years old?
Your username is bigfarter and you want to accuse others of being immature?

Mark Lecras. Everyone loves him. You can't boo him.
I could boo the Frenchman all day long, he always looks smug to me

I couldn't / wouldn't boo Pridas all the crap he puts up with (from within his own supporter base) and he keeps doing his thing as well as winning brownlows

he's a champ! Viva La Pridas :)

Dustin Fletcher full stop. From the opposition Pav springs to mind, Pendlebury is another. Barlow, Fyfe, Thompson (Adelaide), Swallow, Cotchin, N Reiwoldt ... any super talented ball player who doesn't ever stoop to dog acts to cover for the fact they're a little unsure of their ability. Silvagni was another.

The recognise movement is very short sighted

The constitution actually allows the government to pay welfare based on race
Changing the constitution, would recognise said people, but it'd also allow the government to remove welfare from these groups

Currently, it also gives said groups tax breaks, freedom from (now defunct) law such as conscription

There are a lot (Goodes included) who have no clue of the ramifications to the indigenous community

But that is a different story

I boo because he's a flog, as do those I know (although, I did hear a racist comment, and told him to keep it to himself)

I'd say less than 1% are racially motivated

Let's unpack what you mean by "flog" - what you are saying about welfare is bullshit and a preamble to an act of parliament by definition does not have any legislative force - one hundred years of Australian
Common law says so - remember when land rights was going to take the Hills hoist? That was a Murdoch myth as well

I used to boo the shit out of every Vic player during State of Origin games

Personally I believe no-one is "un-booable" the closest I'd get to in the AFL is Ablett.

I just find amazing how parts of the media have completely forgotten about the fact that he is a dirty player. Goodes has a bad rap sheet with the tribunal and for that alone deserves some booing, he is a known diver and ducker for frees and now tries to hold himself up on some pedestal as this great bloke. A man who picks out a teenage girl to make an example of is not a leader but a coward. He could've taken on other targets, he never took to Eddie Maguire for his King Kong remark like he did the girl, but that would've meant standing up to someone with a media profile and ability to answer back.

I actually like the idea of players trolling the crowd. What happened tonight seemed pre meditated. News does not have to be about the exploits of Buddy and Jetta but a statement by Goodes.

I will be slaughtered for saying this..

To me that looked like a calculated way to get a non politically correct reaction from that section of the crowd.
