I'm confused- are people trying to demonstrate the validity of concerns about attitudes toward Goodes?

"Goodes slides" doesn't wash. He's done the time for those "heinous" crimes and the last incident was years ago. The booing didn't start then. If people are using it as an excuse, they should be doing drive by shootings at Lindsay Thomas' house in a daily basis.

They are clinging to this fallacy that he slides each week, that he plays up each week when the reality is he hasn't done any of that for a few seasons.

Its just a convenient excuse by the hive mind, they are running out of reasons and clinging on to them. Even when called out they ignore and continue.

I would love for a TV show to actually break down with fact and figures, but we all know that most australians have a tendency to drift into a mindset of stupid and not pay attention when facts are presented. We also know australians are too immature to concede they were wrong, so then it becomes a power by numbers.

Even after Adam Goodes spent a whole press conference explaining the whole thing, no one wants to listen.

The sad thing is, my fellow aussies havent got the brain capacity to be self aware. They don't understand that their behaviour plays right into what Adam is talking about.

But really what do you expect from a country that is proud to be anti intellectual. This is what we get, anyone who has any semblance of a brain is called uppity and w***er. Look at Lambumba, years ago he copped it for not being a "Dane Swan" who mumbles through a sentence and is dopey.

What irks me in this thread is a group of 20 something year old white males all sitting behind the safety of their monitors passing judgement on a guy who will do a lot more and contribute a hell of a lot more to society than they ever will throwing around mistruths and thinking using words as flogs makes them feel on a higher level than Goodesy.

In fact reading this thread makes me feel like i walked in the lunch room of a construction site.

There is no doubt the mortality rates and health issues are certainly one of societies issues to deal with, among many. Is it lack of access? Is it lack of education? Is it a lifestyle issue?
Is it as simple as those choosing to live a traditional lifestyle are more likely to die early purely due to the lack of western medicine, and reliance on more traditional remedies.

I love the fact you seem to point to the fact I'm some sort of redneck. I just look at it that there more pressing issues for indigenous Australians, as pointed out above, than trying to continue to focus on the past atrocities (granted, easy for me to say). We can't change the past, but we can alter the future.

WTF did my comment have to do with lambasting Goodes?

It was disgusting that the TV cameras showed her face that night when it was apparent she was underage. There are primary school students the same age she was that night. The fact that she was subjected to police interview without a guardian present is also concerning. TV cameras happily broadcast a 13 year old girl being escorted out to the shame of an entire country.

Like I said I do not blame Goodes for pointing her out. Adults in other facets failed miserably that night.

The interview the next day is another discussion.
