Traded James Aish [traded to Collingwood for #26 and St Kilda's 2016 second round pick]

A potential delistee and pick 26 (likely be pick 27-30 after Academy bidding) in a weak draft, no thanks.

The club will try to trade Aish + Pick 55 for Pick 27-30 (Collingwood) + Pick 25-27 (St Kilda - Nathan Freeman) or 2016 second round pick + Paul Seedsmans.

Pick 27-30 goes to Hawthorn for Suckling and and 25-27 goes to Carlton for Tom Bell.

Brisbane:
Tom Bell
Matthew Suckling
Paul Seedsman

Collingwood:
James Aish
Pick 55
Bell, Suckling, Seedsman......what a trifecta. Lions will be unstoppable.

Interesting what Brisbane fans think Aish is worth on the market. Speculation suggests the Lions would be happy with a pick between 15-25 for Redden. I wonder if we can gauge what they believe Aish to be worth, because that is what matters most.

Speculation from who?

Redden is a restricted free agent at the end of 2016 and could well attract an end of first round compensatory pick. Depending on ladder position that could be anywhere between 19 - 36. Likely to be early 20s.

I think it was Jay Clark in his trade chat today.
And where's Jay Clark getting his information from?

Why would the Lions trade for anything later than Pick 19 this season, when they could get something very similar next season when Redden is uncontracted?

The Lions may say they want to keep him, but what they say they do and what they will do are two very different things.
I'd say a pick between 15-25 for Redden is about right, and I reckon the Lions will trade Redden, can't have toxic environments. The trade off of having a toxic environment with a good player or a clean sleight minus the good player who's what, 25/26(?) when you're rebuilding? There really is an easy answer, not sure if Redden is that important to Brisbane anyway.

Redden is 24.

The Lions may well trade Redden, if the price is right and it benefits the club. The question is whether a pick between 15-25 is the right price for a first 22 contracted player, whose compensatory pick next season is likely to be in the early 20s anyway. Schwab said Brisbane will be holding contracted players to their contract, unless the trade proposal is to the Lions' clear advantage.

It must be really difficult, from an organisational perspective, for a power club like Collingwood when all these talented young guns want to play for them.

or not play for them like Nathan Freeman

Anyone think North Melb are a chance considering Aish hasn't nominated a club, suggesting his club of preference is still involved in the finals?
