If the rumours of $1.5mil over 4 years for Sinclair are true, you seriously could not blame him for leaving.

On the Swans board, we have 400k a year. 1.6 mill over 4 years

If that's the deal Sinclair should take it and run. Unlikely he'll get offered anything better than that in his career

God Bruce's commentary is ******* cringeworthy

Jetta is quick though
Indeed.

We hope that his heart is still in playing AFL and that he wants to win a flag at WC.

If he plays consistent footy, would be fantastic, however it's his hunger and form in finals that stresses me out.

Isn't it amazing what a difference a year makes

If I was told last year that we could get Jetta in a direct swap for Sinclair I would have been ecstatic. If I was told we knocked it back I would have been ready to string Vozzo up.

Yet here we are and asking for more

I still have reservations over Jetta and trading out Sinclair is a risk but I'm finding it progressively harder to find reasons why this isn't a potentially great trade for us.

Props to Godfather32 who was all over this early and stood by his opinion despite a lot of strident opposition to his view from posters (myself included)

That takes him til his 30. I want him, not on that coin though and the cost.

Saw a post earlier in this thread:

WC: jetta + pick 33
Sydney: Sinclair + 57

Would probably do that to be honest. I think Jetta is worth more then Sinclair, but we are going strong for a contracted player.

So I think we are getting shafted, but if that's what it took to get the deal over the line I'd do it.

I still think you win in a straight Jetta for Sinclair swap, but we would take that deal....

Ps. No way jetta and 14 will end up at WC. You can quote me on that.

Sinclair is worth more to BOTH teams than Jetta is.

You want a contracted player, there should be nothing equitable about this trade as far as we're concerned.

Yeah, would be pretty shocked if Sydney were that desperate.

If the deal gets done it's pretty much going to be West Coast getting Jetta and a pick upgrade and Sydney getting Sinclair and a pick downgrade. OR a direct swap between the two.

That would leave us with 3 picks in the 30s. Would Sydney trade 14 for 33, 36 and 36? Be heaps better for points from your perspective.

That's the thing though, Sinclair is worth a hell of a lot more to you than Jetta is to us. You guys seriously need a ruckman not named Nankervis or Derickx, whilst for us having Jetta would be nice, but not essential.

Props from the pensioner, I've finally made it on bigfooty :D

That's 14 for 2 picks in the 30's. No thanks. As the original 30 was ours.

If we put our 14 on the market, we would get a lot more. Collingwood for example will have 3* high 20's picks and would love to buy into the first round after Treloar.

If you had a pick around 22/23, we could do something very mutually beneficial. But you don't have that

All of which helps you get a ruckman how?

Fair enough if you could (theoretically) get more than 1550 points for pick 14 you should do it.

And it's not 14 for two picks, it's three. If you were happy with the trade you suggested then it's a seperate deal. If you don't do it, we have 3 picks in the 30s and you have pick 14. But I get your point.

There is life on Mars

Well if you thought Sinclair would get 400k a year offer a year ago, chances are there really could be life on Mars. Let's look back on this in a year

That simply wont happen because the Swans will need that first rounder for Mills (who is as good as Heeney).
As a few have pointed out, our two second round picks, third round pick and Sydney's second round pick (which they were going to have to use for Mills anyway) is enough points to get Mills.

36/37 is only just shy of the point for pick 14. They can still get Mills with 33, 36 and 37 using the new bidding system.

But a good point made by the Swans poster is that they can probably trade 14 for two picks in the 20s, given the shallow nature of the draft.

I think on an open market, after discount we can turn 14 into pretty much what we need in a shallow draft.

If you trade Sinclair, even though I don't like it you will get overs. I reckon that deal is about enough overs to leave a sour taste in both our mouths.

I hate it, you reckon you could have squeezed more. A fairly even trade.

P.s. I like this board. I think I have quite sensible posts, and when intruding decent posts. Can't say I have ever been here before.
