Trade Bell + our 3Rd round pick to Brisbane for Mayes.
Trade Casboult to Freo for a pick 22-25 (they need to go find that pick.
Trade the freo pick to Hawthorn for Anderson.
Trade Yarran to Richmond for pick 15-17.
Trade this year's 2Nd and next year's 2Nd to Gws for Tomlinson, Plowman and whoever else.
Take lennon in the psd
Don't trade the 2016 geelong first round pick.

Out: Hendo, Yarran, Bell, Casboult, 2015 2Nd and 3Rd round pick, 2016 2Nd round pick

In: Mayes, Anderson, Tomlinson, Plowman. Maybe another gws player or 2, Lennon, pick 16 (yarran), 2016 first round pick (Hendo)
My concern is that there won't be enough time/we won't get deals done quick enough to go through that many steps.

Realistically, we may only have 2 x more trades with my priority being:

1. Bell trade to Bris
2. GWS trade for Plow and co (most likely)
3. Yaz trade for 12/Lennon
4. Tomlinson trade - least likely to happen at this stage so should wait to see what currency we have first
5. Cas option - only if good deal comes along, would happily keep

I think they are a strong top 4 chance. They've got some decent existing talent that should improve further (Caddy, Blicavs, Cockatoo, Horlin-Smith, DUncan etc etc). Lachie fills a clear need and Danger is a game changer. Zac Smith would be a great addition too. Only thing stopping them is how they handle the loss of Kellie and Stevie J

But I think this is an ok outcome at picks 17-18. 14-16 is a good outcome and anything lower than that is a bonus.

agree with you, I'm expecting pick 17 or 18 anything better is a bonus.

Cats won't realistically jump straight into the top 4 but I expect a finish in the 5th-8th range, netting us a pick from 11-14.

(A Mod deleted my earlier post but I'll rephrase)

Gibbs and Murphy previously held a press conference saying they had long term contracts and wouldn't be traded. So even if there was a suitor they'd put their own comfortable positions ahead of the best interests of the club.

Chance of Murphy/Gibbs leaving: 0%

Which post was that Azul ?

Can we please get a deal done now the Henderson compo is sorted and the Treloar deal looks like its done to the Pies...

Bell + 3rd for Mayes = like
Early 2nd for Cas = like
On-trade for Anderson = would ideally rather pick him up cheaper but signs say he's worth it
Yaz for Pick 15-17 = like, though wouldn't mind grabbing their 2016 first as well. Get Tiges to put their confidence on the line
20 + 2016 early 2nd for those guys = like but unlikely to get done for that
Lennon in PSD a real chance = love
Hold Cats' pick = like, though would likely appease GWS for Tomlinson, which I'd do

That's right. Without sounding like sour grapes I'm really not sure Henderson will make a huge difference down back. In theory, he's replacing Rivers or Lonergan (longer term) so its sort of like for like.

Selwood is about to have another ankle operation so not sure on his immediate future - could ne another Daisy ??

Obviously Dangerfield will make a big difference but hell of a lot of pressure on him ??

I dont care that much about Rice. Looks more like a HBF/ small defender type and we dont need that kind of player. We have Army, Touhy and Smith who can fill that role. Happy to match the bid if it's not too high though.

SOS (while he looks to have less exposed talent at present) has a much higher ceiling being younger, and fills a massive need for us (tall forward). Plus he wants to be at the club, and I am dead certain he will give everything he has to make it. He may not make it, but he wont die wondering.

And do you know what this means?

Fremantle in no way can lure Cam McCarthy to their club, so he is most likely going to play out his contract. Therefore Adam Tomlinson may be more likely to leave the Giants, so as long as a late first-round pick is available.

Wow. Steal. Six pick downgrade and pick 35?

That said, Bennell has serious issues. He's a 95 percent chance to implode over here in the West.
Great deal for Freo. 6 pick downgrade but keep their early pick. Lose 35 but gain Bennell.
