Traded James Aish [traded to Collingwood for #26 and St Kilda's 2016 second round pick]

Richmond only interested in offloading Astbury if it helps to get us Yarran. 39 wouldn't work.
Then I guess I would rather he stay at Richmond because 39 for a player that only plays in the VFL is a fair trade it's a second round pick 17 or 21 isn't fair on Brisbane's end

I wonder if Picker$ is on your payroll?
Going by BF in the last 24 hours...
He's on our payroll, Damien Barrett is on our payroll and Gubby Allen is on our payroll (or soon to be).

Any wonder why we're the biggest and best? ;)

Yeah fair enough.
He's got one more year on his contract. Personally I see him replacing Chaplin when he retires at the end of next year. If he had a good run at it he could take his place sooner.
I don't think handing over 31 and Astbury to the lions for 17 is an unfair trade, but if the lions don't want to give up 17 that's their right.

Emma Quayle - she's pretty reliable.

Tom Bell to Brisbane
Aisho to Collngwood
2nd round pick to carlton.

I would think another 2nd rounder is going from Collingwood to Brisbane. I presume she just overlooked that. That probably secures Bastinac.

Sounds fair. :thumbsu:

Think everyone would be happy with that, assuming you're right re the second 2nd round pick to the Lions.

Don't see any reason North would want another 2nd round pick, would likely want 17

Lol your not serious surely

With 34,38 and 40 i cant see us interested in a 2nd round.

17 would be the only target that has reason.

Tigers probably the same, no desire to move Astbury if it doesn't help land Yarran.

Bris have some very good options at the moment, but it is also a house of cards, each trade will greatly effect the others. Must get it 100% right to land everything they want.

Brisbane may pass on 17 if we can package Bastinac and a pick/picks that gets them points they need for academy players.

Pick 17 has no relevance to them if they are using it for academy players, it's all about points accumulation.

But I don't have a clue what they are planning to do?

Obviously if Aish is open to a move Bastinac has currency, but as stated I'm not sure we will want another 2nd rounder by itself? Maybe we are waiting to see what GC give for Currie, so we can give Bastinac and a package of picks that satisfies the Lions points requirements, so we can get 17 and back into the first round.

Think all parties would be pleased...really rate Aish highly, compliment pies mids, especially on top of getting treloar.

I know it's a tad late to be asking this considering we're over 240 pages in and the topic is purely everyone's envy of Collingwood, players nominating us, points for academy players and phantom trades everyone seems to be throwing their two bobs in with, but can a Brisbane supporter, or even an avid Aish fan give a bit of an analysis into what kind of player Aish currently is, and what he could be? I ask because I've just realised, we might be giving up 2 picks for a kid of 32 games. Other than his publicised want to leave Brisbane, what's he like as a footballer on the field?

So Aish for Tom Bell? What happened, did Aish die?

As long as we have more then enough points for the Acedemy boys and we can land Astbury, Bastinac, Bell, I don't mind giving North Melbourne pick 17. Picks are overrated.

In the Age today Aish's manager reiterating his client is only considering Collingwood.

I can see us offering 17 or 21 in a trade that nets us Bastinac plus some of those 36-40 picks that you're accumulating.

I have a feeling that Bastinac might be the odd man out in this recruiting spree we're doing though. He seems to be a late addition and it may well be that we don't have the list spots given the draft to come.

I've seen a fair bit - a few of his U18 games and then his Lions games obviously. He doesn't really have a weapon and I wouldn't consider him elite in any particular respect but he's almost certain to rack up 200 games and look pretty good doing so as he's also got very few knocks on him. His best role to date is really spreading the ball from a contest or out on a wing, as he's had reasonable endurance for a rookie/second year player. Don't bother throwing him inside. A bit weedy but again - rookie/second year. The best Lions' comparisons I can think of are Simon Black minus his fantastic in and under work, or Redden minus his tackling but with more aggressive and better disposal. Aish just knows how to play football.

I think if the Walker deal goes through we'll see someone like Paine being delisted to free up room...And wouldnt be surprised to see a shock exit to Geelong or Carlton in the trades...Who knows, its all a bit crazy this trade period...

Apparently Liam Pickering has said the same thing as Emma Quayle this morning on radio (I didn't hear it but it was on SEN so they may put up audio of it later).
