You must have forgotten about Demetriou trying to send us to the Gold Coast eh. fair enough. Laidley coaching us to a prelim with the amount of potatoes we had was unbelievable. We were never close to matching Geelong or Port in September though. Resorting to a Shemons troll is in response to you trolling North about Kerridge. farkking potato

FWIW St Kildas last 3 prelim losses have been to the eventual premier in 04-05 and 08. But teams like the Dogs and North, teams rarely win the GF the next week after rolling them two in the prelim. Only Carlton in 95 for North and Adelaide in 97-98 for the Dogs.

Yeah making finals and Prelims isn't our problem(our rate at that over the last 30 years is up there with the best), its the next step that we suck at.

What were some of the other prelims? I do remember one or two during the Geelong period a few years back now but can't think of the others in the 90s? Late 80s probably too early for me to remember who played in prelims

Between 62-84 we were terrible, only made finals twice in 74 and 76 and were knocked out first week. From 1992 onwards we've been solid though.

But yeah, we've played 10 prelims in our history, won 1 against Melbourne in 61 and lost 9, Adelaide remains the only team to win the flag after beating us in a prelim. Geelong, St Kilda, Hawthorn and Collingwood have all failed.
