Duryea will go down as like the best back pocket to have played the game so don't think he'll mind.

Aaron Shattock and Beau McDonald didn't even touch the ball in the 2002 GF.
Cameron Mooney didn't either in his GF win with North.
I doubt any of those three, or the five subs, care about that.
It blows me away to think that any player can go through a game without touching the ball. At least once. Mcdonald might have been injured i cant remember and shattock is just well shattock.Aaron Shattock and Beau McDonald didn't even touch the ball in the 2002 GF.

in 2014 Doc had more running bounces in his 20 minutes of game time than Sydney did in the whole game. In addition, he had a solid 2015 grand final as well, so I'm sure he's pretty happy with himself.
happy to provide you with a refresher, Doc also had a larger impact in the 20 minutes he played than the likes of Jetta, Rohan and your captain McVeigh.I have no idea what you're talking about. I have completely wiped my memory from a pitiful performance at a warm Saturday afternoon in September were an event allegedly occurred.

Poor buggers...
BTW go watch Duncan's running goal from 50 and remove him from that list!!
WTF is this thread
Unlucky is Daniel Menzel, Alex Johnson, Jack Trengove.
It's probably another discussion, but now that the sub rule is gone I think any players that played senior footy in the premiereship year should get a medal. It's ridiculous that a player could play every H&A game and 2-3 finals and not be eligible because he was injured or suspended before the GF.
From this point on each senior selection has contributed at least one full game to the overall premiereship campaign.
2011 - Mitch Duncan
2012 - Luke Parker
2013 - Jonathan Simpkin
2014 - Taylor Duryea
2015 - Matthew Suckling
These were the guys that were the subs in the Grand Final winning teams. They have that dubious honour and for several of them they only came onto the field for essentially the last quarter and as a result had a minimal impact on the outcome of the game. Had the sub rule not been in place at all then these players would have played a full game but instead because they were subs at the end of the game I suspect more than a few of them were not even tired.
So because they were subs and did not play for a large portion of their grand finals, having reasonably minimal impact on the outcomes of their games, do you think they feel like they might look back on these years and think they were not quite as involved, and it was less their premiership than their 21 team mates?
The sub rule is gone in 2016 as well so these 5 guys will be the only ones who have been the sub and won the premiership, separating them from every premiership winning player for over 40 years.
Out of interest, if all players that had a senior berth during the Hawthorn threepeat seasons were awarded a premiereship medallion how many additional medals would have been awarded? Not much different to a player playing a full game and either not having much (or any) impact or missing most of the game through an injury sustained early.
They were all there on the day and contributed in some way both on that day and in the season leading up to it.
Given the way lists are managed in the modern era (ie. Utilising depth of list) the truly unlucky ones are the guys who contribute a lot during the season and other finals but then miss out on that one game. Hartung and Whitecross the two big ones for the Hawks right now.
I'm curious to know that too now you've asked. Had a look back, don't think I missed anyone here.Out of interest, if all players that had a senior berth during the Hawthorn threepeat seasons were awarded a premiereship medallion how many additional medals would have been awarded?
Interesting, thanks! I don't think awarding ~6 extra medals per season to the players that made a contribution to each premiereship season is that outrageous, especially now that the sub rule is gone and top ups will be expected to play full games. Could be worth considering.I'm curious to know that too now you've asked. Had a look back, don't think I missed anyone here.
Players that played at least one senior game for Hawthorn without winning a premiership in '13-'15 were:
1. Jed Anderson
2. Sam Grimley
3. Luke Lowden
4. Shane Savage
5. Brendan Whitecross
6. Michael Osborne (played in '08)
7. Johnathon Ceglar
8. Tim O'Brien
9. Kyle Cheney
10. Jonathan O'Rourke
11. Derick Wanganeen
12. Billy Hartung
13. James Sicily
14. Ben Ross
15. Angus Litherland
16. Mitch Hallahan
17. Alex Woodward
18. Daniel Howe
Only Whitecross, Ceglar and Hartung have been really unlucky not to have played in a flag in this time.
Beau McDonald played in 2002? Why the **** was Darryl White rucking then? It was Keatinf that went down early right?Aaron Shattock and Beau McDonald didn't even touch the ball in the 2002 GF.
