I'm quite happy with my team at the moment, but 1 thing is bothering me;

I have each of Parish, Mills and Oliver and am strongly considering Weitering for a defensive post.

Am I doing it wrong?

not doing it wrong, you cant really do it wrong, you are just doing it your way.

depends on your structure and what makes your team look better.

I think I know what I'm doing (top 1% last year), but I've never picked more than maybe 1 rookie that was $200+. I've never been this confident about so many first year players though I guess - and the rookies are slim pickings in general this year.

I'll post my team when I get to a PC (can't work out how to do it on my phone).

Pretty set on this team barring rookie changes.. had Shaw for a while but have got seduced by the late '15 season and '16 preseason of Hall and Sheridan and downgrading Heath gave me a bit more depth down back and up forward.

Thoughts?

B: LAIRD, BARTEL, KOLODJASHNIJ, SHERIDAN, Brown, Hartley (Lee, Ruggles)

M: DANGERFIELD, PENDLEBURY, ABLETT, ROCKLIFF, PARKER, LIBERATORE, Mills, Gresham (Gore, Mathieson, Davis)

R: GOLDSTEIN, GAWN (Grimley)

F: MARTIN, BARLOW, HALL, Wells, Menadue, Kerridge (McCarthy, Tipungwuti-McDonald)

Approx. $40k remaining

Pretty happy with this setup. Wish I could have Danger as well but I'm happy with this team balance.
I reckon I'm pretty close with rookies.

Could downgrade Oliver to a BenKen or Milera equivalent in order to bring in Shaw for Rance
(was happy with Cockatoo, bloody idiot )

Same structure as me so I like it.
I'd probably look to use the remaining cash to go wines or Ward to Ablett/Pendles.

Menadue is pushing for a best 22 spot (may have already secured it for all we know). The injuries they sustained the other night means that he'll play round 1 100%, so it gives him a chance to cement his spot.

Milera is only playing because Charlie Cameron is injured. Tex, Lynch, Jenkins, Betts, Cameron, Knight and now Menzel. Could play round 1, but can't see him sticking around.

im backing Frodo in this year to continue on his form from his last 4 games
and Wells, first time i have had him in my team, but form ATM warrants selection

Yeh sorry I mis-quoted there.

My side is very similar but I've got Kerridge in the forward line and not keen on S. Gray or Wells.

But hey, what do I know - I've got 4 rookies at $200+!!

What is everyone's thoughts on my team so far?
not sold on the structure yet, and trying to get in the best rookies, and not too many mid pricers but jeez its tempting.
Backline is a bit of a worry so far.

Also, what is everyone's thoughts on Viney? Bit expensive but would be a massive POD if he can take the next step and average 105+.
Cripps as well? had him all last year and thought he is a bit expensive this season, but he just put up 107 with 53% TOG against Sydney...kid is a genuine freak.

You're right about your backline, personally I think it's a bit too weak to start this season and you'll end up losing points to teams with more solid selections. I'd downgrade one of Hall, S. Gray or Greene to Wells and upgrade Sheridan.

I really like the Ward pick and if Rocky or Ablett don't play round 1 he's my go to replacement.
