People had the same reaction to Heath Ledger or Ben Affleck being cast. It's something that can never be definitively known until you've seen it for yourself.

Plus that was when Cage was good.

I think we have seen enough of Cage to know what we would have gotten.

I would have watched it and enjoyed it but it would have been hilariously bad.

Anyway thankfully this is all we will see of that.

There is absolutely no way you, or I, could conclusively say that.

Nothing definitive was even released. Or even progressed. A screen test isn't anything meaningful and with Burton to direct and Smith to write, the concept could have delivered.

But we'll never know.

Obviously its my opinion but im fairly certain of it. You have seen Nic Cages work yeah? I just cant see anyway in which it would have been good.

Zack Snyder and Jason Momoa on a pre production set for Justice League. Also has a glimpse of Flash's suit, Aquaman/Atlantian armor and the the black one could be Black Manta. Mera's suit on the right next to the batmans cowl, also looks like an amazonian helmet on the bench.

it’s not an accident that Warner Bros. hasn’t said much about Green Lantern besides the fact that they’re planning a 2020 reboot. The character is not referenced in BvS and Silverman acknowledges, he may not turn up onscreen for a while.

“[Green Lantern] is an incredible character. He’s actually multiple incredible characters,” Silverman says. “There’s real opportunity there. We didn’t do a great job on that first Green Lantern movie. This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being treated now, which is with great reverence. I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they’ll be really happy.”

But how patient? Rovens says we may not see Hal Jordan, John Stewart, or any incarnation of Green Lantern until Justice League – Part Two. Maybe. “Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there’s the possibility that he may or may not be in Justice League 2,” the producer says. “For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put Green Lantern is some introduction in Justice League 2, or barring that, a movie after.”

I think the rumour I read was he'd show up at the end of JL1 and tell the JL that an even bigger threat was on the way?

Either way, I'm happy to wait if it means they do it properly/better this time around!

Yeah but the new interview sounds like they had that removed from the script in rewrites. They might be holding out for the right person for Hal. If they want an older one there is only 1 person who could play him and that is Nathan Fillion. and have him come back to earth at the end of JL2 needing help with something like Sinestro Corps, Red Lanterns or Black Hand. then build the Green Lantern movie around that as a backstory of Hal's return to earth

Ah fair enough. Fillion is on record saying he'd like to play Booster Gold too IIRC.

I hope they bring back Mark Strong as Sinestro, was one of the few things I liked in the film.
