Geelong's membership slogan of "Welcome to Geelong" is clearly all about Dangerfield too.

Walsh was criticized for not making him captain. Walshy knew.Danger is the player on Geelong's membership cards.
Danger has his own Geelong membership category.
Danger sits atop a throne on his first TFS episode as a Geelong player and proclaimed the "King of Geelong"
Can see a distinct pattern here. The guy left us to have his ego fed by Geelong and the Victorian media. I have no doubt he will play some brilliant footy. Could well be the best player in the AFL this year. But Geelong have strayed from the team first ethos that won them three flags and had them as the competition's best team for five years.
An ethos that has seen Hawthorn win three in a row and actually saw them become a better side when Buddy left them.
The biggest thing that pushed him out of our club is our want for team success and not stroking an individual's ego. Team first ethos wins flags.

Hm. Let's not go that far. Having a good economy is up there with having a country that doesn't have social legislation written in 1950.Let's just keep crapping on about national debt and marriage equality and other non-issues and ignore the thing that will keep our economy in the last century.
I decided to have a quick peek at the Danger thread on the Geelong board... wow. NEVER AGAIN!If this Dangerfield hype blows up in their faces this year or in the near future, their tears will be the most delicious tears ever shed.
What do they expect? Cricket oval =/= world football rectangular pitch. It is as simple as that.the world game at AO just doesnt work
Bugger I had just downloaded shallow Hal
I don't think its that bad really. By that reckoning the MCG doesn't work, nor does any pitch with an athletics track around it.What do they expect? Cricket oval =/= world football rectangular pitch. It is as simple as that.
Yep. Big fat red and gold throne.
Just quietly how disrespectful is the "godhatesfages" line port posters have come up with. Says a lot about their supporter base.

They keep coming up with new hash tags, putting it in every post, then slapping each other on the back when it trends.Just quietly how disrespectful is the "godhatesfages" line port posters have come up with. Says a lot about their supporter base.
West AdelaideFantastic post ......my thoughts exactly ....Geelong have definitely strayed from what made them successful under ThompsonDanger is the player on Geelong's membership cards.

I think Jenny lied when she said she spends only 20min. a day on BF. I think she meant 20minutes for every post. It's a miracle Jenny has actually made one post on BF let alone 39,000 with that speed

It's sort of like when you put a couple monkeys in a cage and they get excited when they pull the lever and get the food.
Long as it keeps the unintelligent ones away from our board, no harm done.
They played a grab from Thommo who said he spoke to Danger last week and said he was very happy.Dangerfield is having that thrust upon him. He didn't ask for any of it.
I actually thought, having watched the guy for 8 years, he looked a little uncomfortable last night. He made an effort as he always does to take it in his stride, but he is looking and speaking like a man a little shell-shocked by what is happening around him for mine.
I just hope the kid is happy. At his first presser as a cat he looked happy and relieved with the whole deal and I thought yeah, you're the enemy now, and on we go. But he has said a few disconcerting things in the months since then. When they asked him if he's loving being back, and his body language shifts around and he's dodging the question. He's done it two or three times now. In fact, aside from the opening presser, he hasn't been anything like how I thought he'd be when he crossed over. His footy is fine, but that's never been a problem for him. Don't think he quite expected the media storm he has gotten, but I wonder also how he is feeling about things 5 or so months on. It was a big call to walk out on team mates he had previously talked about not being able to leave, and without a premiership. The only time he perked up and looked "himself" all night was talking about Scott Thompson, and that went over like a lead balloon.

He's probably trying to play down the hype
Couldn't agree with this post more. The only times he looked genuinely comfortable talking last night was about living back in Moggs Creek, and the prank Thommo pulled on Laird. They actually barely even brought up any of his new teammates, when he has always struck me as a team first player on the field.Dangerfield is having that thrust upon him. He didn't ask for any of it.

It's not Danger's fault the media are like that though. The only thing that seems to matter to Patty is living in Moggs, Geelong are just lucky they are close geographically.Joel Selwood answered a question about Paddy last week that was a bit interesting when I heard it. The question was the stock standard, how is Paddy enjoying Geelong. There was a bit of a pause before Joel said he's enjoying it, but not as much as he is enjoying Mogg's. A few other questions were all about Paddy and I got the impression that Joel would have much rather been talking about himself instead.
I'm sure Danger is happy, happy about living back at home. They played a grab from Thommo who said he spoke to Danger last week and said he was very happy.
