Witts, Cloke and Williams are our top trade pieces this period. We have to turn those guys and maybe another player or pick into something Essendon wants.

Could Freo give up pick 3 for Lobb/McCarthy? Maybe even add Walters as steak knives? Frees up some cash for the Giants who can add another elite kid for their upcoming premiership window.

You can't use all those picks for those players for 1 person we won't have enough picks for brown and Daicos . Also hearing we are leading the race for WHE so another curve ball.

You suggested we give up pick 19 and Jong for a 30 year old has been, what kind of response were you expecting? "Oh dear" is as respectful as one could be.

Secondly, don't know where you've gotten the idea that we are in the market for trading Boyd. Personally I have my concerns, but he's still only 21 and not going anywhere.

Lastly, I'm curious as to how you came to the conclusion that I found my way here by trawling through trade threads and searching for all things Tom Boyd

Mine is adding an extra element to the original deal to get it over the line. Lobb & McCarthy for 3 is probably not enough from Freo. Adding Walters evens it up.

3 and second for Lobb and McCarthy is fair. Walters is silk. He's worth a a top 10 pick.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul because there's no point in weakening a strength just to strengthen a weakness.

We aren't without hope of putting together a decent offer, but it requires some nifty work ala Melbourne last trade period.

For instance I actually think Witts is a great fit for Essendon so if we can find a top 20 pick to complimemt him that could get us into the contest depending on how highly Essendon value Witts.

We look like we might have quite a few second rounders after trading and the extra compo pick. If we turn them into a first rounder, theres a start. Witts and Brown may also be of interest. It'll take some clever maneuvering but it isn't entirely without hope.
