Ben Watson suffered a torn Achilles' in Saturday's preseason game.

Watson went down on the first play of the night. It's a huge blow to a pass game that relies heavily on tight ends. The Ravens could end up getting nothing on the two-year, $7 million deal they gave Watson this offseason. With Dennis Pitta and Maxx Williams sidelined, Baltimore is down to Crockett Gillmore.

Rams signed WR Tavon Austin to a four-year, $42 million extension through 2021.

The deal includes a whopping $30 million guaranteed, a princely sum for a 5-foot-8 gadget player the Rams have desperately wishcasted as a No. 1 receiver since trading up for him in the 2013 draft. Austin is coming off a unique season where he eclipsed both 400 yards rushing and receiving, but simply isn't worthy of this kind of deal. The Rams under Jeff Fisher have a tendency to compound mistakes instead of trying to fix them. All that being said, despite now being overpaid, Austin is a useful real-life player who has WR4 appeal in fantasy. He is a legitimate playmaker. He's just not who the Rams are paying him to be.

Colin Kaepernick's $11.9 million base salary became guaranteed when he was kept on the 49ers' roster through April 1.

The 49ers also paid Kaepernick a $400,000 offseason workout bonus. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat's Grant Cohn has made a convincing case on Twitter that Kaepernick's release may be inevitable, but it would be a costly move for the 49ers. Dysfunction has reached new heights in San Francisco.

That Tavon Austin deal is really something. The GM at the Rams has no clue at all. What a bunch of dummies.

Hell of a lot of money for a kick returner as he has shown SFA as a WR who is way to small with iffy hands.

Austin was good last year but I don't think he's earned a deal of that magnitude yet.

He is such a tease. You can see he is close to being brilliant at times.

Likely part Tavon, part Rams but its frustrating to watch at times. Would have liked to see him elsewhere tbh.

Kenneth Dixon suffered a left knee injury in Saturday's preseason game.

Dixon's knee bent awkwardly on a second quarter goal-line carry. He had to be helped off and was immediately taken to the locker room. Dixon was having a strong game before going down, rushing for 41 yards on six carries while playing with the first-team offense. More will be known when the Ravens update his status.

Well Giants fans can no longer make fun of Cowboy's fans for Greg Hardy when they have Josh Brown [Accused of 20+ instances of domestic violence against both Wife and Step-son] gets a 1 game suspension [So much for the 6 game min suspension for Domestic violence, must only be a black thing Good job Rodger you c**t] and rewarded with a new 2 year $4M deal from the Giants.
