Meh. MElbourne tried this approach years ago with little success. The club received a half decent sponsorship with China Southern airlines.

It's a no brainer, we have red in our club colours and Charters imported all the good stuff from China so it has to be us
Could use Sun Yang as the ambassador and steal all of the potential support from Port. Brand them as Mack Horton's team and photoshop his head onto a Port jumper.
Still wouldn't be as big as what your club gets (which is more than the Lions and the Swans).
Also, we're playing Gold Coast. Won't be a home game for us but for them but IIRC, we still get most of the money and it'll still be billed as our game (it's BS but GC get the bucks from this too).
So because Melbourne failed any other clubs attempt will not be successful?

This, asking a club to give up a home game and tell them to act as the away team is sheer arrogance.
If port want to do this then they should be the home team, sacrifice one of their own home games and compensate the Adelaide oval for it.

This is the one thing I agree with. And it shits me. We're the ones wanting to play there, therefore we should be giving up a home game. It's arrogant of us to ask another club to give up a home game for us.
