tougher to say a player is coming and get it right than to just poo poo it and say he isn't - bB70 has enough credits even if MB doesn't arrive - personally I'm happy to march it to the bank........

Ok, finally I have an actual rumour...
The source is probably completely unreliable, but it's a rumour nonetheless.
I just got home from a function, There was a quite intoxicated man there who took quite a liking to MrsCoach16. As I was "saving" her, he struck up a conversation with me. Mumbled and splattered something about having "contacts at Carlton"....
Immediately I thought BF! After a little persuasion, he told me there's a kid we're getting at the draft. Both the club and the boy are Already committed. Apparently, the club told him to NOT attend any draft camps, keep a low profile, etc and they would definitely pick him up...
Not sure where the boy is from, or even where he's playing. But supposedly an onballer who wins his own footy.
Goes by the name "Cam Poulson".
Does anyone know this name or heard of this kid?

He went to school with my nephew.. Although being small the kid is quick and hard at it. Very similar to a Zorko style player.

The facts thread is good for a few years until it either wants a pay rise, starts kicking goals (then it needs to be traded), has a stellar season then comes runner up, wins pre season comps then finishes last in the real season. It's BS if you ask me!

He doesn't seem highly rated, though, and not exactly flying under the radar either, given the competition he plays in and some of his team mates. Someone at the club must know him or his family.
Interesting to see where he's predicted to go in the draft.

Cameron Polson is an interesting one, a whole 3cm taller than Nathan Hrovat, he made the Vic Metro squad but didn't play and is also one of the 80 kids invited to the National Combine.
He spends a fair amount of time at the Dragons running around with McGrath too, which is interesting with us having pick 5.

Yes, but we picked a captain for the 'future'.
I don't think many would have seen Simpson putting up this kind of form this far into his career. In hindsight Simpson would have been the much better choice. Murph hasn't been the same since taking on the captaincy. Not solely because of that, injuries have played a major part, but he still doesn't seem a natural leader like Simmo, Doc or Weiters.

Heard a rumour today, thought id might aswell share it since you all are craving them.
So one of my fathers customers owns a few cafes in the city, he reckons he talks to important people at the club. Told us that we want to sign Harvey (from nmfc) to a one year contract, in the hopes he would become an assistant coach for us.
Believe it if you want I guess, but I think someone else posted something similar a couple days ago?

Yeah it would be sad to lose Kreuz, but if it meant receiving Boyd that would be a stunning move by Silvagni.
If we were then able to secure Marchbank , Pickett and another marginal player from GWS too, I'd be estatic.

I agree there is a huge opportunity to get Boyd, but the issues are:
1. Is Boyd any good? I think he is developing OK, has great size and agility and can kick, so will prove very good - but the jury is out and the expectations of a #1 draft pick to be an instant star hurt peoples perceptions of Boyd.
2. Has the game changed so big forwards are less important? Hawthorn have shown that no KPF can work, but can they win key finals without a Dominant Big man?
If we think Boyd makes sense for CFC as we need a dominant big man and it fits our game plan then...
3. How do we manage the salary. Boyd's management unlikely to reduce $$$ size of contract so the Dogs will have to pay at least 25%?
4. What are we prepared to trade? Would Kreuzer and KJ be fair, as they need a mature ruck and a developing KPD, and are we prepared to lose them?
Dogs made a bad trade in terms of creating list pressure, do we help them out and why?
I will be disappointed if we don't draft Kerr. I think he looks more likely than either of Casboult or Jones
