I wonder if the rumours of Sydney being keen on Langford are true. Hoping lightning strikes twice?

His best is very good but not sure if that was a flash in the pan. I think he suits Sydney's style more than he does ours. Might be the change he needs.

I'd doubt it personally, we have more than enough of his sort of player, its one of the reasons we didn't take Dunkley last year in the draft.

Not saying its impossible, but I can't see him being best 22, so not someone we'd be going out to chase.

Kennedy, Mills, Jack, Parker, Mitchell, Heeney and Hannerbery all far head of Langford. Few more with much more promise as well.

Hewett too (eventually will be a mid), and then we have players in the reserves. Langford would be a waste of time.

I heard 350k, he's worth 500k and we'd be able to back end and offer more years id imagine.

380k was the first offer, which will no doubt be increased with the new cap coming in. We won't go near the 500k figure though. The team is bigger than 1 player.

To be fair hes shown more than kennedy had before we traded him. Both were dodgy kicks but in sydneys game plan and on the small scg he may flourish. Back swans in to improve his kicking as they did with JPK.

Yet he would barely make our NEAFL midfield (would make the team though). Why are we trading in a bloke to be in the NEAFL again?

Depth. But i dont think he will be part of the trade, pick 15 should get it done as ive previously stated. Chuck in a swap of 2nd rounders hawks seem to love adding that to trades.

Do people honestly think an out of contract player doesn't know where he's playing next year in grand final week.

This is as bad as when we were all waiting until after the gf to hear if Buddy was leaving Hawthorn.

Well as he is not a FA, the answer is yea.

He may know where he wants to go, but trades would still have to occur, or a Swan GF win could cause a change of heart.

There is depth and then there is stupidity. Someone like a Durea I could get, but not Langford.

Id almost prefer to lose dureya over langford, weve got litherland to come in and cover his position. Think he's been stiff not to get more games.

Just can't see Sydney wanting a Langford type, we just have so many of those midfielders. As it is we probably have 1-2 too many. Durea could help as Jones transitions into the midfield next year.

Swans retiring McGlynn....opening up cap space for Mitchell....or someone else?
Heeney, Mills and Aliir increases? it can happen like that. We upped Breust, Smith and someone else in the same year a few years back from memory. When you have a crop of youngsters have breakout years all at once it can bite on the salary cap a bit. Heeney and Mills especially have had massive years on minimum wage (unless the Swans have already upped Heeney last year

And when Suckling's turn came around we couldnt increase it enough and he moved to the Dogs for a fair bit more coin. May be playing in his 3rd Grand Final in a row, too.

Sydney do not need another Langford type. you have them falling out of your ears and bar 4 games at the backend of 2014, they are all better performed than Langers. You need good users out of defense more than you need Langers. You need a quality small forward that can consistently kick you 40 goals WAY more than you need another contested beast with questionable delivery

That's right, all those unforeseen increases can cause a squeeze

Breust for Mitchell and their 1st rounder :)

Correct, a Sicily type would be handy as well. Would replace Xavier Richards up forward.
