Shuey - 2016 Brownlow winner?

Using the highly scientific formulae of...

Win by 60 or more - All votes to the winning team
Win by 30 to 60 - Votes 3 and 2 to the winning team
Win by 1 to 30 - Votes 3 and 1 to the winning team

Shuey will finish with 21 votes in the Brownlow if the umpires agree with our board. Probably not enough to win?

Probably not. Dangerfield will be like Fyfe last year and have 30+ votes by round 20.

I'll remember Nic Nat season for two things and they happened within a week of each other. Firstly making me believe that maybe we could win a premiership (kicking the winning goal against GWS) and secondly ending any chance of us winning a premiership (when he did his knee against the Hawks).

He started the season well, but caught fire between Round 5 and 12. This hot streak included his best performance of the season in Round 6 against Collingwood which was highlighted by his 8 clearances. By Round 12 his Achilles injury had flared up to a point where he needed to get surgery. At that point of the season he was only 0.70 votes behind first on the leaderboard.

After missing 6 games and having a "warm up game" against Freo he exploded against GWS. Only an 374 possession game from Super Shuey kept him from BOG in the game. And for my only Youtube clip in this countdown...

I'll never forget that GWS goal. I was sitting pretty close to it all on the outer wing and have never been surrounded by that many west coast fans. I knew he had kicked it but had no idea the siren had gone over all the noise and excitement. Such a great night

Pretty astonishing effort from Nic to place fifth when he missed that many games. Hard to argue against him being our most important player

Priddis started the season well picking up 2 Top 3 votes in the first 3 rounds before missing a game due to injury. The week off didn't do him much good as he struggled over the next several weeks. Really found his mojo between rounds 11 and 22 where he constantly polled votes week after week. This stretch included his two BOGs for the season. A 27 possession, 12 tackle, 9 clearance effort against the Western Bulldogs in Round 11 and a 24 possession, 1 goal, 15 tackle, 7 clearance effort against Melbourne in Round 18.

It's hard to believe that at the start of the season McGovern had played a grand total of 33 games. By the end of the game he had just past 50 games. Is it the best 50 games by a WCE key defender? Probably...

He finished third this season in the votes, well clear of 4th (almost 7 votes clear).

After a slow start in the first 3 rounds, just took off. His run from Round 12 to 17 was his peak finishing in our top 2 players in 4 of the 5 games. And it's not like he slowed down after that, finishing in our top 4 players in 3 of the next 5 games.

His best performance of the season came in Round 17 against Carlton where he had 18 possessions and 8 marks in a best on ground performance. His other BOG came in Round 5 where he had 23 possessions and 9 marks against Sydney.

Unfortunately he was one of guys that killed it in the regular season and then didn't turn up in our final. It's hard to pick on a guy with only 50 games experience, but he just seems so dependable that it was weird for him to be a non-factor.

That's a bit rough, credit to the Doggies who didn't allow him to play loose and cleanup wayward passes.

maybe a bit rough. Doggies did well to limit his influence, but every team tried to do the same thing during the year and he still had a big influence in most of those games.

Round 19... 0.40 votes as 3rd best? That for real?
