Downie hasn't really progressed over the last 2 seasons, so he's in the same basket as Phillips really.
Our 22 would suffer immensely with the two of them in it. He's also been mentioned on here before a few times, so there's a good chance he's not in the mix.
Remember EP also said last week, if it's #5 we need to think laterally about also picks coming back, including possibly future picks.
He also said #13 alone won't be enough for Gibbs.

If we pick up Marchbank(injured), Pickett(injured), Ahern(injured) for pick 5 then it is imperative we do another group deal and trade our 2nd for these guys....

I knew stating the harsh truth about Gibbs' worth wouldn't be popular, but it seems like it is what it is. Which is about where i expected it.
These pipedreams demands of 2 first rounders or 13 and McGovern or Cameron have been making me laugh.
13 for Gibbs would be accepted by SOS i am pretty sure.
I just hope we don't give up 24 for Lyons as well though.
Let's please not mention Kelly or Shiel in this mix.........someone may see it.

Bloody hell.
Or we on-trade the pick together with the #15 and #16 that we DEMAND from GWS, for a top 10 pick and another in the early 20's.
If this crap trade is to go ahead, then we have to think outside the square.
Eg; If GC were to get pick 6 for Prestia, we could package #13, and #16 for #6 and #22.
Then we would be within 1 pick of our original selection.
We could then target Powell-Pepper with #22.
Gold Coast would still have #4, #7, #13 and #16.
We would have #6, #15, #22 plus Tuohy pick.
Not my preferred option but we will have to give up something to get a good return.

Looking at the GWS list and thinking that it's completely from left field, could it be this this guy? Impressive in the NEAFL judging from here http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/122331/Daniel-LLOYD (Age may be an issue though...) I do hope it's a good from left field choice though!
but honestly have no clue, all I do know is I have full faith in SOS and his team.

Are you suggesting that every trade we do is by definition advantageous? That's patently absurd. Each trade must be assessed on its merits. We've won some (Scotland), we've lost some (too many to mention), we've drawn some (Judd).
AFC have an interest in Gibbs because he is an elite ball user coming off one of his best seasons, highly durable and in the prime of his career. His value to them is immense. That raises his trade value.
His value to us may be less, because his prime will not be concurrent with our prime. That has no impact on this trade value.
You're letting your dislike for him get in the way of understanding his true value.
