I know what you meant. A more accurate comment would be that the Dangerfield trade was nothing less than sensational; awesome; incredible.I meant the Dangerfield trade was okay.
Our premiership window will close very soon.
Our second tier midfield is a laughing stock and in my opinion a huge contributing factor to our 2016 failure.
We lack pace around the ground.
Caddy's 2016 was nothing special at all. Very, very inconsistent.
Deledio did only play 11 games this year, but he's been beyond durable beforehand. A great player when near his best.
Now, tell me why I know nothing.
Some of you are just too emotional about our players. Caddy will never be half the player Deledio is / has been.
I'm not saying trade him for Lids but Caddy has played 95 games, maybe this as good as he's going to be.
For me, if he has an uninterrupted pre-season, if he's still at the club then next season is the one for me where he needs to be stringing, at the very least, solid 4 quarter games together, not just the occasional big moment, or quarter or half.
Can someone point out to me his last 3 games where he has really made you sit up and take notice?

Has anyone actually considered that Caddy might want to go. Did his manager indicate to the tigers he would be interested? Did Caddy tell Balme or Caracella or Prestia he was interested.
Wouldn't want him to leave in any case espcially for a injuired 30 year old playerCaddy has no interest in leaving Geelong.
Loves the club and his teammates.
Confirmed by a contact via text message.
As I've said, there's no room for logic on this board / discussion. Too many emotional supporters who have feelings for the players.
And also on the otherhand, verbal diarrhea is also in abundance

When's the last time a player who'd played as many games as Deledio has was traded for something significant?
That makes no sense whatsoever as we have never traded for somebody with his experience, have we? But why let facts get in the way hey?Any trade we have been involved in

You need to stop listening to Andy Maher on SEN mate
Nah, he's a major upgrade. It would be silly to suggest otherwise.
There are legitimate concerns to be raised re: Deledio's injury history and whether the costs to the age profile of our list outweigh the short-term benefits the signing would bring, but from a talent and output perspective there's no doubt in my mind that Lids would be a big improvement on Caddy.
On the proviso that we're able to keep Motlop, I would give the trade very serious consideration. Caddy's upside is nowhere near as big as Motlop's and whereas the latter's skillset is one we cannot afford to lose, the former is more expendable. I do like and rate Caddy, so I think he'd be a good signing for Richmond, but if we're chasing a premiership next year - the club's recruitment strategy from last year means that we'd be insane not to - then I reckon Deledio would be much the more valuable to us.
Did trade radio die for everyone just now?
Close how? Since when has Wells been close to any media types?Anthony Hudson actually bought up Caddy's name and he is very close to Wells.
You seriously think Wells would give Huddo all our inside info and risk his job?Anthony Hudson actually bought up Caddy's name and he is very close to Wells.
Our premiership window is open now, what use will Caddy be when all of our stars have retired in 4-5 years?
None.
I say it's worth the risk. Deledio is a gun, and QUICK. Our second tier mids are one paced, and have limited talent - Blicavs, Caddy, Guthrie, Duncan.
We need to win one while Dangerfield and Selwood are peaking, while Hawkins is there. Plain and simple. Once those guys are gone, we fall.
Just to confirm, Gibbs plays for Carlton right? Both teams are terrible and its very easy to get their terrible lists and strategies confused as one big steaming pile of s#it.Unfortunately don't have a pick we'd want or they'd give...unless they get something decent for Gibbs
Gonna throw this in the mix if we actually really want to get Touhy and Delidio over...Mitch Duncan. I rate him very, very highly but he seemed in search of a role this year. "If" we want these trades, and that's a big "if", we will need to put something on the table. Mind you I'd rather lose Caddy than Duncan and I don't wanna lose Duncan.
