B: Plowman Rowe Simpson
HB: Docherty Marchbank Smedts
C: C.Curnow Gibbs Kerridge
HF: Murphy Weitering Palmer
F: Silvagni Casboult Wright
R: Kruezer Cripps E.Curnow

INT: Thomas Cunningham Sumner Pick 5

Kruezer to ruck 80% , Casboult to chop out.
Mids obviously lack depth, injuries to our top end mids will be a disaster.

Murphy to play high half forward, needs to be protected from bash and crash of the centre square.
Small to mid size forwards should be able to put on manic forward pressure.

With the addition of Marchbank, Weitering has to play forward, great mark and accurate kick. Forward line was a shambles last year with Casboult the only marking option. Kruezer, Phillips, Gorringe are not good enough for long enough to take that role.
McKay still has plenty of time to develop in the NBs and should get games in the back half of the season.

FB: Buckley Marchbank Plowman
HB: Simpson Weitering Doc

C: Boekhorst Cripps E.Curnow

HF: Casboult McKay Wright
FF: Smedts Silvagni C.Curnow

R: Phillips Gibbs Murphy

INT: Cuningham, Kreuzer, Kerridge, Sumner

Now that spine has 10 years written all over it!

Simpson Rowe Plowman
Docherty Marchbank Byrne
Murphy Cripps Cuningham
C.Curnow Weitering Smedts
Silvagni McKay Sumner

Kruezer Gibbs E.Curnow

Phillips , Pickett , Brodie ? , Wright/Palmer

Must keep Murphy on the outside where he can use his class and distribution to full effect.
Can't afford to have him bashed up and sitting in the stands .
Forward line is young and will need time but is very exciting ... such is life in a rebuild .

Ok. I'm looking at Round 1 after the draft and DFAs have come in to the club. There's a couple of players in there who I want, but mightn't even get to the club.

FB: Simpson -- Marchbank -- Plowman
HB: Docherty -- Weitering -- Barlow

C: Gibbs -- E. Curnow -- Towers
R: Phillips -- Cripps -- Murphy

HF: Sumner -- Casboult -- Wright
FF: Silvagni -- McKay -- C. Curnow

Int: Kruez -- Cuningham -- Palmer -- No.5 selection*
Towers is anassuve step back, he is the ultimate turnover king

I remember trying to fit in 25/26 players into a best 22.

Now we're struggling to find 22 AFL standard players.

There may just be a very good reason for that.
When you clear close to 30 players in 2 years, some things will just need time to take shape.

Our back-line has taken very good shape.
Our young forward line will take time but does have the likes of Silvagni, McKay, CCurnow, Pickett, Sumner and possibly Weitering involved.
Get the midfield depth and quality over the next couple of years and we may just have something to go forward with.

Other than shopping for a ready made KPF, it looks as though it's going to be all midfielders from here on in other than Ben Silvagni in 2018

Does Thomas have to play a certain amount of games to trigger an extension in his contract?

If that's the case I bet he doesn't play the number of games required.

I remember reading 60 over 4 years but who knows.... thus far he's on...

LET me check the Blueseum...

43.

Putting that aside he came top 10 in our B&F so someone somewhere namely the MC must think he adds value.

I'm not struggling at all, the only disappointing player in my 22 is Levi, but he's a ruck/forward in the structure.

i dont see how people are thinking thomas is in our best 22? are people still remembering what he could do? injuries have talen their toll and the game has gone past him. if he didnt have a big fat contract (thank you malthouse & mckay) he would be gone. he can't keep up and his kicking is deplorable. surely with the inclusion of smedts palmer pickett and about 5 draft picks its over for him. its time to move on

My Round 1 team vs Tigers, providing players are fit (so no Byrne in this lineup)

Marchbank - Rowe - Simpson
Plowman - Weitering - Docherty

Smedts - Cripps - Curnow

Palmer - Levi - C.Curnow
Silvagni - McKay - Sumner

Kreuzer - Gibbs - Murphy

Bench: Pickett, Wright, Cunningham, Pick 5 (Brodie or Taranto)

White and Phillips would be the next 2 inclusions for height purposes, don't necessarily think pick 5 or pickett will be walk up starts round 1.

Marchbank Rowe Plowman
Docherty Weitering Simpson
Curnow Cripps Cunningham
Sumner Casboult C. Curnow
Wright Mckay Silvagni

Kruezer Murphy Gibbs

Kerridge Phillips Pick 5 Buckley

Hope so.

Ironically, Thomas' contract is probably helping us right now. How the **** else would we even come close to the minimum salary cap spend? Daisy is delivering for us off-field - if he brings it on-field this year he'll be our most valuable player ;)

really? by organising the p1ss ups in bali?

Oh I just assumed it was a joke post. Surely if we didn't have that contract we'd have paid the current list more or recruited someone else. TO think Daisy is adding any value at all is a bit silly.

I could see a HFF type role as a place where he could add value.
