"they weren't going to go out of their way to get something done. Whoever wanted that trade had to come to them with a pretty significant deal and while they were happy to do it, they weren't going to go and push for it. But they made that clear from the start."
So all this was established before the trade period even began and rather than getting off his arse and being creative to try and get the deal done, Reid sat on his original offer without much movement in the hope Carlton would blink, then when they didn't play along with his misguided strategy he calls them unrealistic.
