Unfortunately, I think the MRP as seen with the Cunnington decision are going to give more weight to the end result than the actionDefenitely not a sling , brought him down in one motion - head reels back just after his body hits the ground . Play on !
Just my opinion but I reckon it will be looked at and deemed reckless with the AFL going on about duty of care and Cocky will get a week.I'll be much happier if it doesn't come to that, but to me it doesn't look good.
Guess we won't have to wait long to find out.Finger crossed I'm wrong.

1 week unfortunately.
Never had eyes for the ball, and he didn't bump
Bumps are perfectly fine when done right.....this was neither a bump, nor was it within the rules.Er, I thought they were not supposed to bump?
I think he will be fine, it was not a two action sling tackle.
Though this is the sort of thing, the MRP would probably like to grandstand on early in the season, but if it happens in the middle of June or September it would not even be looked at.
For Cockatoo there are only two outcomes. Either be cleared, or miss matches against Fremantle, North Melbourne and Melbourne to open the season. The latter is more likely.
Oh dear.

You arent supposed to have eyes on the ball when you tackle. Your eyes are supposed to be on the person you are tackling. Look away tackling ain't a thing. And bumping is what risks suspension, not tackling as long as you don't sling.1 week unfortunately.
Never had eyes for the ball, and he didn't bump, instead he chose to drive Gore into the ground.
Couple this with the fact that Geelong blokes ALWAYS seem to cop a whack at the tribunal, I'd say he's gaaaaaawn!

Get what? You blokes still don't get it.
Yeah, but only because Cocky makes contact before Gore touches the ball. A second later and it would be nothing to see here. You don't have to have eyes for the ball in a tackle, if the player is not attempting a mark, iirc.Bumps are perfectly fine when done right.....this was neither a bump, nor was it within the rules.
I watched it about ten times and at no stage did he have eyes for the ball, and this will hurt him.
I'm hoping for a 'nothing to see here' but I'm not optimistic
And you're not supposed to crash tackle someone who doesn't have the ball either. Derp! You arent supposed to have eyes on the ball when you tackle. Your eyes are supposed to be on the person you are tackling. Look away tackling ain't a thing. And bumping is what risks suspension, not tackling as long as you don't sling.
And if Aunty Mary had a penis, she'd be Uncle FredYeah, but only because Cocky makes contact before Gore touches the ball. A second later and it would be nothing to see here. You don't have to have eyes for the ball in a tackle, if the player is not attempting a mark, iirc.
Clearly over my head - what are you implying? And if Aunty Mary had a penis, she'd be Uncle Fred![]()
