Doesn't matter if arms are not pinned or not you have to be able to protect yourself especially head. Its a sphere tackle that was reckless and the result caused injury he had two feet off ground

You are going round in circles with this sphere tackle argument mate.
Thank F**k. There would of had to have been another rule change if he got rubbed out for that.
"Eyeballs must be looking directly at football if tackling"
Strange the AFL site wanted him out for 3 weeks! On SEN they wanted him out too.
Is weird cause I couldn't see a thing wrong with it. Not even a free kick.
It was actually classified as simultaneous which is what may have saved him. If Evans weren't committed to a club Cockatoo would have missed the first round at least.I think it's a free kick, only because he tackled him before he took possession.
I don't think that tackle should end up with a sanction, but I though it would.
Nice surprise, as I think we seriously need him in Perth.
Common sense decision. How strange.

He grabbed him slightly before he got the ball. Warrants a free kick but not a suspension.I don't think he touched him before Gore got the ball.
At worst it was at the same time. No free kick for mine.
Must of been very slightly then. Even in slow motion I couldn't see him touch him first. He grabbed him slightly before he got the ball. Warrants a free kick but not a suspension.
Gday Catters.
Gee I was worried when I first saw this, but it was one of those rare beasts that looked better on the slow mo.
There was no intent there, but if you want MRP evidence for result-based rulings, check out Cunnington's two week-to-one last week.
Good luck for the season proper.
Cheers.
Full credit to the MRP this week - three soft cases and none of them turned into suspension. If only this was done consistently.
Was a beautiful tackle and it's why this boy will be great for the club.
We need more mongrel and aggression and he really does lead from the front.
He would've played all year, he got injuredCockatoo has to be given opportunities this year in much the same way Kersten, Blicavs and Murdoch have been before him; even if his form is up and down he's at an age and talent level where he's not going to benefit much in playing VFL.
This time last year Cockatoo was in similar exciting form before going on to play just 10 senior games for the season (one fewer than in 2015); played two 5-game blocks - He managed 11 goals in those games, too .. also looked good in the VFL final I watched him play.
I'd like to see him play close enough to every game this year, injuries permitting. Just needs to work out how to get the odd easy link-up stat, minimize his sometimes poor decisions and occasional poor disposal; already has all the tools to be a quality player.
Apart from his tackling his acceleration is very good and I really like his marking ability; he can be dangerous up forward for now with the odd stint in the midfield.
