We have plenty of young options to play as a small in the back half. Gleeson, McKenna, McGrath, Ridley, Mutch (can rotate back there), Morgan (even though I think he'll get delisted), Ambrose (think he can play this role too) and McNiece all have at least 5 year careers ahead of them. In any case someone like Brett Bewley can be taken in the rookie draft to fill that role.

We do as any side does.

Mcgrath you want to progress to the midfidld. Baggers, kelly last legs and Morgan delisted theres 4 options to fill let alone Dea who i knows slightly bigger but also gone end of year or close to it just a matter of time.

so at minimum 5 spots to fill in 1 years time and im not sure we fully covered for Hibberd last year as it was.

Nelsons a fair way ahead of VFLplayers right now. hes a best 22 lock for a top 6 AFL side.

if the price is right!

If he is a best 22 for a top six side, why isn't he playing for the Eagles? (Who aren't even top 6)

Why not?

Every player has a value/price

Im assuming Jackson Nelson isnt out of contract though being that this is the end of his 3rd year. More likely got a 2 year deal unless just extended by 1?
Mostly because he doesn't strike me as a type that is particularly hard to draft, so the premium in picks and salary to prise him out of a club where he's playing, contracted and seems happy is probably excessive.

ie: James Stewart?

If hes contracted he staying so unsure on that. What would he cost? Max 3rd round pick at 46

I must admit id prefer Harley Balic for the same cost

Stewart wasn't playing - easier to satisfy a club when they aren't losing a best 22 player (and need to cut their list size), and a player when you're offering opportunity.

Looks like Nelson might actually be coming out of contract though.

Agree but your premise was hes an 'easy to draft' type you can actually say that about most players.

Not saying it will be easy to pry away, doesnt mean you ask the question if it improves the side/club. If hes contracted then yeh, you dont go there for now.

Maybe Harrison Wigg is far more accessible. Remember him as a junior was a nugget small defender/half back with a lethal left boot who took every kick out. Is an SA boy so maybe hard to move in that way but if he wants games then maybe he should look for opportunity. Isnt getting a game ahead of Brown, Laird or B.Smith for his next 4 years. Doesnt seem capable of breaking the midfield even thought not overly strong even when maybe a Douglas moves on.

Guys like Knight, Cameron, Milera, Beech seem to be preferred to filling that void and Bryce Gibbs*

Would enjoy the etihad deck i feel with his left boot. Has shown the ability to play midfield. Wouldnt cost anything just depends if hes keen for a move to save his career at both Adelaide sides will be a struggle. Maybe Port are the team if hes adamant on staying home.

3 way trade or something between pick 46 and 64 considering strength of draft apparently.

think you're underestimating how highly he's rated, getting him out wouldn't be trivial. suppose it could be a different story if he doesn't debut this year and they pick up Gibbs...

If they rated him so highly he'd have to be asking why he isnt getting a game. Clealry that shows they dont rate him as high as many suggest.

no thanks he will be delisted

Even better. Get him for nothing.

Plays as a runing wingman at NEAFL level. All we need him to do is fill a role until Mutch, McGrath etc. are ready to play consistent senior football on the wings.

List clogger Yoda_ wasnt even sure you were serious but now that you're ... its a huge NO

Would chuck our 3rd rounder at Harley Balic

I hope that we are one of the clubs inquring about Kelly. Unsure whod wed give up bit Mummy on last legs. 1st round pick (10)

Pick 10 + Kobe Mutch + Leunberger/TBC for Kelly offer 10 mill over 8 years

Realise that wont cut it. Maybe a 2nd round pick aswell next years
Why would we trade someone that we've only just drafted? That's silly talk.

Reports that we are one of three clubs (Adelaide, West Coast and Essendon) who were not allowing players to sign contracts with built in clauses to receive a pay increase with a new CBA deal. They simply get the amount they signed for. Would make sense as to why Parish, Daniher and Zaharakis were refusing to sign until the new CBA deal was done. Would also potentially leave us with war chest to pick up a big name.

Still can't help but think we're right in the race for Martin.
Given that report is from Sam McClure, I'd say it's a load of rubbish.

He has been ?

They will finish top 6
This is West Coast "Can't win away from Domain Stadium" Eagles we're talking about right? I'm not even sure they'll make finals, never mind finish in the top 6.

We can differ in beliefs.

You seem to be forgetting the beat Port in Adelaide and North Melbourne comfortably in melbourne.

...... but yeh cant win away

Ill also pose the question whos the only team to beat Port in Adelaide this year thats travelled. (Hint: Anwser above)

Jason Johannisen.

Do not want - is bordering on the most over rated player in the game.
