There is some merit to locking a discussion until a reliable source says that a transfer is even remotely likely to happen. FSG have stated they are not even willing to open negotiations and Coutinho has said he is happy at LFC. All other rumors are ridiculous (quite a few had Coutinho to Barca a done deal and him being unveiled at the Barca - Chapacoense friendly ) which was not even close to happening.

Agreed, the problem I have with RAWK (and a lot of other non-Liverpool football forums) is that any healthy discussion over anything mildly controversial is pretty much impossible.

Right now not me but FSG clearly do. We simply cannot go into the season without adequately replacing Sakho and have him on the books while sitting on the sidelines. Sign another CB if VVD can't be bought at a reasonable price.

Not fussed over Ox. What position is he filling that we are buying him for? I know he can play anywhere in midfield or wide forward but our midfield is packed anyways. He's nowhere near a starter. Henderson, Cout and one of Can/Wij will start. Lallana way in front of Ox when he returns. So at best he's 5th choice. Milner will get more time in midfield.

I'd also rather give minutes to Grujic and Woodburn to bring them along rather than Ox.

He could perhaps be a backup in that front three. But Mane/Firm/Salah is first choice then we have Ings, Solanke, Origi, Sturridge all vying for places and even Kent is up and about for a spot in that front three.

I just dont think Ox is needed. If we are to buy in midfield, it has to be a first XI type signing, like Keita would have been.

VVD is a must though. We are waaaay too light at CB.
