Hard at it, booming kick, good run and carry. Would be nice off a wing.
I dunno what you've been watching but his kicking is terrible. He's not really that hard either.

Agree to disagree. Think it's more decision making that's off, would be better off not playing in the defensive 50 as he's doing now, but rather delivering inside 50

Wow, don't shoot the messenger guys. Just passing on what's being said around the traps.
Yes, I'm sure the 3 clubs have agreed to your trade at this time of season.

There is not an ounce of truth to your made up trade, which was ridiculously imbalanced.

That is true, just don't think he's a natural defender. Much better on a wing with his run and carry and HUGE left foot kick.

Collingwood fans - if you want to keep Scharenberg, how about:

6 + Maynard + 41
for
Lever + 35 + 53
Personally I'd take this. Not because we are getting the right value for Maynard, but more that we get to keep Scharenberg and Broomhead (who I think has alot of potential)

I'd rather trade Broomhead. Not because I don't want him, I've been a long time fan, but I struggle to find a spot for him in our 22. He plays best in the midfield but we're already stacked there. He's not going to learn anything else in the VFL, 41 disposals and 3 goals last week is proof enough he's too good for the level. He needs senior game time and I don't think he'll get it with us.

I think he just offers what our other midfielders don't offer around the contests. Burst away speed and precise footskills. He's our direct replacement for Wells, and has all the tools to be a 25 year old wells in a year or two.

for me it's Broomhead (better)=Scharenberg (more of a need)>Aish

Word is that Collingwood are definitely involved in the Lever trade, but it goes something like this:

Adelaide IN: Howe and Collngwood's first round 2017 pick (currently 6).
Adelaide OUT: Jake Lever, CEY

Melbourne IN: Jake Lever and Collingwood's 2018 second round pick.
Melbourne OUT: Jack Watts

Collingwood IN: Jack Watts, CEY
Collingwood OUT: Jeremy Howe, 2017 1st round pick, 2018 2nd round pick.

Apparently Bucks wants more mids and a reliable key forward, so I guess it's a win-win-win situation. :thumbsu:

This post should be a bannable offence.

I agree it's strange and I've stated multiple times that I hope we don't get him.

As a side note though on the money vs trade value debate, Prestia was given a $750k contract last year by Richmond. 20% increase for the CBA bumps the equivalent offer this year up to $900k. They gave up pick 6 for him. Hmmmm....

Of course that doesn't work as you pay $700k per year roughly for Treloar so you probably only should have given up 1 number 7 pick hmmmmm.....

You just re-enforced my point. $$ offers don't neccessarily dictate the trade cost. Expecting some kind of mega deal for Lever like two top 10 picks or pick 6 and DeGoey is likely going to leave you bitterly disappointed.

That's why I said it doesn't work, I was joking around with the guy saying welcome to Collingwood Jake. I have a feeling it would be more than pick 6 by itself though. I think the crows really wanted Maynard in his draft year which apparently was the reason the crows swapped picks with Geelong to get a better second round pick. That might be what the crows would ask for... pick 6 and Maynard

Yeah, they won't get that though. Maynard is really highly regarded within the club, they see him as a big part of the future. You might get an SA boy like Broomhead though, I do know for a fact that your club has kept in contact with him over the journey.

Lever get talked up as the second coming by some Adelaide fans.

Worth a top 10 pick given circumstances.
Of course he's a top 10 pick at least.

He was touted top 5 but did his knee and missed his draft year so fell to 13.

Adelaide has completely derisked him now and demonstrated he will be a quality 200+game player.

He is now worth substantially more than a pimple faced potentially top draftee and is also only three years into his career.

He's OOC. You'll be compensated with a top 10 pick and loose change.

I've seen some crazy suggestions like two top 10 picks or pick 6 and Sidebottom. That's not happening.

Don't get me wrong, I rate the kid. I really do. I want him to stay at Adelaide, who have lost a lot of good players in recent times. It's a credit that they are in premiership contention after losing players like Dangerfield, Davis, Gunston and Bock in recent years. Really hope you can keep Lever.

I don't think many are claiming he is worth 2x top 10 draft pick?

Agree he would be worth 1 top 10 pick & decent player or 2nd rounder.

Hopefully he stays, but not really confident.
