Caleb Daniel is criminally underrated on this thread
He's had a pretty mediocre year like a lot of the Bulldogs, in fact he's gone backwards in a number of categories from last year; marks, tackles, kicks, goals per game nearly halved and most notably goal assists from 0.67 a game to 0.11 a game. Also the midfield is stacked

Had a good season but who can you put him in over?

Think the midfield is pretty set with Bont, Merrett, Kelly, Crouch, Oliver, Heeney and Wines. It's hard to see anyone else getting over those 7. It's a shame we can't move Bont or Heeney to a flank to fit another mid or two.

That's a pretty narrow view. Aside from a trough earlier in the year he's stepped up and alongside McLean has taken a lot of responsibility while others struggle or sit out with injury.

You're right though, he's definitely not in the frame for this team.

speaks a lot about our youth when 2 gets named in the 40 man squad and both will miss the final cut. Tho sheed is a up against it when the midfield has quality like kelly, wines, bont, merrett, cripps and oliver. Those guys named will all be future star mids of the game

Only 2 Melbourne players I see making it (lets face it we all only care about our own)..

Oliver - dead cert
Hunt - While perhaps not in the best 6 there, is the best of his type of player. So if you're going ot have a line breaker, you pick Hunt.

As much as I'd like to pick OMac, he's just not as good. And Truck... if it were on potential or ability to take a strong grab 1 on 1 he'd be in.... but again too muc competition.

Why is Petracca a mid when he has played 70% forward this year...
Would have made choosing forwards a bit easier if he was there too.

Not a slight on Sean Darcy who is a real talent but this really does go to show that with a couple of exceptions, we need to wait until 25-26 to get a real look of how good Ruckmen will be.

Or, you just acknowledge that a raw 18/19 year is more than holding his own against some of the biggest and best in the comp one the back of one AFL pre-season and is developing at a rate of knots - has the scope to be one of the most dominant big men in the game.

Umm...I clearly acknowledged Darcy and noted that there were exceptions.

It was more the fact that he was the ONLY legit Ruckman listed under 22, in the whole league.

So don't be so defensive.

Rubbish. Rather than acknowledge his capability at an early age, you've attempted to subtely question his ability.

He has stood toe to toe with the games best ruckman and broken even - he's not going to get worse, he'll get better - ask Ben Mcevoy his thougts on the lad.

Anyone spot the Geelong players?
Shrug it's no big deal, our most likely players in Parfitt and Cockatoo missed significant periods because of injury.

Bit surprised Kolo didn't get in, but what you going to do.

Parsons is also coming along ok and Bews has really improved this year though he is 23.

Narkle, if his rehab goes well - will be an exceptional pick up by Wells.

Yikes - I did nothing of the sort - I went out of my way to acknowledge that wasn't my intention - it was just an observation that despite having only played a handful of games, Darcy is the only legit ruck on offer, due to the fact that the vast majority of ruckman don't start to show their true talents until later in their career.

Seriously, don't be so defensive - pretty sure I've watched every game Darcy has played at AFL level, I'm well aware of his talent.
