That's the zone I work in my man.I shouldn't really have laughed at that but I did![]()
lol, "Too silly for words!!" indeed.I will be Washington this story with interest.
Never would have lost those games to lower sides with a training day type attitude.
2x 1st rd picks to GWS
What's your preference?
Kelly (and we might get a 2nd back)
Hopper & Kennedy?
i think that would be part of the consideration.Kelly deal but only if his contract doesn't lose us any promising players.
Wouldn't have thought they could afford him? Ablett coming in and they'll likely have to give up their 2nd rounder to make it work, then there's his salary (which is supposedly still around the 800k mark).Seems likely hopper will go to geelong. That's all the talk with him at the moment. Brother plays in that area i think.
Talk today about getting rid of Menzel, and Mackie or Lonergan or both to retire may give them some cash.Wouldn't have thought they could afford him? Geelong are one of those clubs that will struggle to make many deals this year, as per Hawthorn, Collingwood, etc.

Fair enough. Either way I'm not sure they've got the currency in terms of picks or cap space to get Hopper. There's no way in hell a club would accept a late 2nd (which is all they really have) for a player like Hopper (who in all honesty isn't what they need, they seriously lack speed), Gold Coast are quite rightly demanding Pick 20 in exchange for Ablett given he is under contract and is still producing some very good numbers.Word is they're trading a player for Ablett.
I think Hopper for Motlop is a fair swap.Fair enough. Either way I'm not sure they've got the currency in terms of picks or cap space to get Hopper. Can't see anyone really being interested in Menzel given the fact that he just doesn't apply pressure or tackle. Knows where the sticks are I'll give him that, but when you've got a big lumbering bloke like Hawkins in your side you need your smalls and mediums to apply pressure.
Even Motlop, who would've had some clubs chomping at the bit to get him in a few years ago just doesn't do enough and often looks lazy.
I never said it wouldn't, just that I'm not sure.Just because you're not sure of something doesn't mean it can't happen
Whitfield - Hawks for 2018 1st & GWS' 2ndSo according to the media GWS are going to lose: Kelly, Hopper, Whitfield, Smith, Kennedy and they are going to be happy to accept 2nd rounders for most of them...yeah sure they are! It's 2017 not 1995 when you could package up Ridley&Delany and get a jet in return.
If any club is going to be raided it will probably be the Gold Coast because everyone would be looking to get out of that train wreck of a club.
I think Hopper leaving is still predicated on whether or not Kelly stays or goes. If Kelly stays (which seems the most likely scenario at this stage), would GWS even be able to afford Motlop given the rumours of a huge cap squeeze?I think Hopper for Motlop is a fair swap.
Motlop would fit them well because he is mercurial. They have lots of grunt but another mtchwinner to replace Johnson would work well.
Zaharakis and McKenna, probablySo Kennedy seems way down the pecking order at GWS going by the latest teams.
What is his worth in a trade?
I suspect Hopper goes anyway. I think he recognises that he may not always be assured of a spot at GWS and the pull to come home would also be a factor.I think Hopper leaving is still predicated on whether or not Kelly stays or goes. He would be a good replacement for Johnson I agree, but whether they could afford him is debatable (depending on what happens with other players of course). Wasn't the rumour that Port were the ones chasing Motlop?
I hope you are joking?Zaharakis and McKenna, probably
mate if they haven't re-signed by this time of the year they might as well be on the plane to their new homeI hope you are joking?
