So I thought I would create a poll thread with some realistic types of trades we should be looking for, for 'Jakey" Leaver.
Some of these proposed trades may require us to send our first or second or third rounder this year to get the job done, but I think these are fair and reasonable trades if you take into account the pay Lever is being offered (850k) his age (21), his scope for further improvement and the importance of an attacking 3rd man up defender in todays game.
If you want to pick the trades apart then **** off elsewhere, I am trying to gauge supporters ideas and all the trades I have put forward have been discussed here or in media as possible outcomes for Leavers trade to Victorian club.

The two collingwood first rounders would be of most interest to me. I don't think Oliver would be on the table at all.

If we could go a 2018 first and Maynard, I would be OK with that as well, but potentially + a second round pick swap.

Unfortunately our preferences and the AFC's preferences mean little. Under this player movement regime, the players have all the power.

We will get whatever spuds, steak knives and mediocre picks Lever's preferred club will cough up.
Stop being a sad sack:p:thumbsu:

Not sure this needed another thread but personally I would jump at a straight swap of Lever for Oliver, hell I'd drive Lever to the Airport myself. Wouldn't need any extras or Steak knives

And go on to another winning season and Finals appearance

:)

For me that is the most unlikely of the trades, but it had been suggested.

Oliver would be so far away from the trade table its not funny, but I chose that option because I think he will end up being the best player on the list

Seriously if anyone goes past Oliver whilst we are in a premiership window they are crazy forget picks otherwise keep lever are the best two options for where we sit at present

But I thought the poll was about him leaving so keeping lever shouldnt be listed

Not often the planets line up for us to have chances at getting extra first round picks and the seeming availability of top end SA born draft picks in 2018 (Rankine, Lukosius, Rozee, Hateley according to our resident draft watchers) - would be disappointed if we don't/can't take the chances.

Did it to appease those who think he is staying or too invaluable to replace

I didn't pick it as I reckon I'm probably more likely to win the lottery. But it has been suggested.

Yeah, i've seen some pretty far out ones as well. If he has to go I would love almost any of these to come to fruition, but I am getting that sick feeling we are gonna get stitched up again...

Good luck with that, the AFL are creating a comp that will see rise and falls we are presently on the rise, we dont need picks ATM

When's the last time Sydney fell? One time outside the top 8 since 2003, mostly in the top 4.

Look at Geelong's finishing positions from 2004 to present.

With the right people, and most importantly right development it's completely possible to defy the trend.
