Maybe. I've asked via Twitter as well.

Last years Sydney vs Geelong prelim was a Friday night at 7:50pm:

Which means they'd need to stay overnight I guess

Still can't get an answer either, don't think we'll know definitely until Saturday night. Think for the Saturday prelim the away team has to fly out that night. Some media types reporting around the 3.30pm-5pm mark for either opponent.

Damn, I feel for you!

I was put on MCC at birth (like most) and got the call up at 16, postponed because I couldn't bring a guest. Took it up at 18 and I'm now 34. I was forced into full membership over 10 years ago. How did you managed to not upgrade already if you joined 3 years after me?!

So I'm paying ~$700 for MCC and ~$50 for RFC. Stupid idiot (me!) forgot to enter the GF ballot... so stupid idiot (me!) will have to join the queue GF morning, if we make it.

You may have been on the waiting list longer. You normally would be accepted at an earlier age but 16 is the earliest you can be a member I think.

Im in a similar possie to Greg Tivendale. Became restricted in 2003 or so and still not full. I believe they increased intake to finance the new stand, and people aren't dieing like they used to!

For future, get the $90 RFC/MCC membership. Gets you a reserved seat in 3121 seating for our Etihad home game and also access to their pre match function, then gives you a barcode and finals access too.

I'm restricted and have this membership too
I had that, but dropped to the $50 because I couldn't guarantee I was able to make that one home game at Docklands.

As a P3 I have registered for 3 tickets. I can't die wondering even though I think it is a long shot.
17,000 tiger tickets available I reckon. Could maybe be stretched to 20,000-25,000. 14,000-17,000 are already P1. Which would leave it really difficult for anyone else. Your best bet as a P2/P3 is to place in one barcode in each transaction so you could possibly get a single seat to the grand final if we make it.

If I have no luck in the ballot, I don't intend on giving up.

What are the alternatives after that? Just scalpers?

Grand Final packages from other AFL teams. It's still scalping. About $1500 a pop for LOL Norf Grand final breakfast and GF ticket (not even a great seat)

The problem is even these will get snapped up super quick if we make it.

If you don't get one in the ballot I'd be putting an ad in the paper/and or online pleading for a reasonably priced ticket. There are still some good people out there and you might get lucky and find an older person that isn't out to make a fortune.

A lot of scalpers will double or triple the price if we get in, simply because they know someone will pay it.

Question, not sure anyone will have an answer to this. But I used my parents credit card (on my Ticketek account) when registering as I don't have one. If Richmond were to make it I know we have to go to a Ticketek outlet to pick it up. Could one of my folks do that for me with their credit card and ID? Or would they need ID from me as well as the Ticketek account is in my name?

We had to do it three times last year, incl. NAB Cup. Swans had to after 2013 Saturday night prelim, albeit they were out by then.

Was that the real red eye leaving at midnight? The other option is leaving Perth about 6pm and getting in to Melbourne at midnight, which is way better. Red-eye is ****ed, i've done it so many times. It would be better to overnight in Perth and get the first flight out the next day. With the tail wind you're only in the air 3 hours, flying West to East.

You'll be amazed. I live out west and know so many dogs fans who were cooked last year but somehow one by one they all managed to somehow find their way there.

Credit card holder needs I'd. Not the member. Also need to have the ticketek I'd.

Put in for 3 x tickets in the P3 ballot... don't hold out much hope and have already started planting the seed with a few people who are connected.
Will wait and see now.
What I'm confused with is that you can't even choose what "maximum" ticket price you'd be prepared to pay. Say I only want to pay for Cat 7 seating to simply be there... plus that's pretty much all the CC space I've got... but I somehow end up with Cat 4 seating at a much higher rate, do I just simply miss out and the tickets passed on to the next person if my CC is declined on a much higher transaction that I'm anticipating?

I'm sure it's been asked by I don't want to scroll through 63 pages and can't seem to find the answer online. My dad is an AFL member and I'm a silver member, assuming we make it through I was going to fly back from Canada to go to the Grand Final.

Is he only able to buy himself a grand final ticket or will he be able to buy a guest pass? If he can only buy one, am I able to use it or are they really strict with checking?

OR

Will there still be tickets for me to purchase with my silver membership? I understand people don't actually know for certain this answer but I'm wondering if anyone has a rough idea. Has anyone heard if they are expecting to sell out at first release of AFL members or anything like that?

You're a Silver Richmond member? Did you enter the ballot?

Your Dad is what sort of AFL Member? Gold? Silver? Does he have Richmond club support? There wont be any guest passes.

Nothing like a club who has a record of failing on the big stage , getting ahead of itself.
We have won 1 final against an injury depleted side and all of a sudden we are considering a GF.
WS or WC are very good sides who have attributes which will worry our side no doubt. If we are 1% off we will get our pants pulled down.
I get it is only pre planning for something we are a 50/50 chance but is it really necessary before being in the GF is confirmed ?
Enjoy no doubt , however it is difficult to forget that shit that has consistently been delivered after media build up, including this year.

Only that many? Wtf happens to the other tickets?

Dude. We are 1 win from being in the big dance. Dream a little dream. Jesus Christ.
Besides....we don't determine when the ballot opens and closes....so no, it cannot wait.
