Are North Being Too Impatient With Their Rebuild?

If they're not back up by the time Hawthorn's contract in Launceston is done, they'll be so dependant on the AFL for money they wont be able to resist the offer to have 7 home games in Tas....

Then 5-10 years later when the facilities at Arden St are starting to look even rattier and their cotenants there become more frustrating to deal with, they'll get an offer for a state of the art facility in Hobart that is entirely theirs and move their training based down there.

Gradually, another game or two will be moved to Tas and their Melbourne presence will be almost exclusively 'replacement games'.

Eventually the pretence will be dropped, the team will be renamed and Melbourne members just get 'away game' access to all games in Melbourne. They might still have one or two token 'home' games in Melbourne, but the crowds will be pretty much opposition fans anyway.

Frog in boiling water relocation.

Reported.
Blatant troll attempt.

Why wouldn't it be? He's entitled to his opinion.

Relocation and folding talk is just trolling.
I got thread banned for saying Richmond won't IMO win the flag and won't back up (make top 4) next year.
Surely saying a club will cease to exist is worth something...mods?

No it's not. Some people think it's a genuine possibility. It's not trolling because you get upset about it.

And so you should. Richmond will win the flag and will probably go back to back. Don't be such a troll.

Ok so if i post a thread that say Western Bulldogs or St Kilda will fold i won't get carded right?

Also not sold on Richmond at all as premiership quality.
Happy to also say they will not make top 4 next year.

Desperately need a classy midfielder. Think we're good down back for the next 5 years. Forward wise we could do with another Tall forward to go with Ben Brown.

You numpty......u offer Daw as an example of a player we haven't developed.......but Ben Brown comes from the arse end of Tasmania via Werribee as pick in the mid 40~50 range.

For how many years has Brown been exposed to or been playing Aussie Rules?

How much input or development has Scott had with Brown?
How much development did Brown he need?

North should do whatever they can do draft top end talent. They need it. Trade anyone who can get it, and start from scratch with a young list. If that means 5-6 years down the bottom then so be it. Once you have that talent, and its 20-21, then surround it with quality free agents. That should be their blueprint.

That's the thing though, many are of the opinion that a club like North can't afford to spend that long down the bottom of the ladder which is why they're trying to do it the other way.

You need to phrase your "opinions" better then.

If you don't like them - then perhaps you should critique them, instead of just offering up pathetic jabs. You think my assessment of North Melbourne isn't a good one, but the best you can come up with is a lame insult.

They have already tried it the other way around. I think they needed to bottom out years ago. I give them credit for remaining competitive when other sides haven't been able to (North have shown consistency), but its prevented them from drafting in the real top end talent. Now they are back at the point where they need that top end talent.

Perhaps the question should be whether North can afford to be patient with their rebuild.
No. You can't. No one can. Get the best players you can as fast as you can and keep the youth and mid tier players that can help you into the top 4. Get the right coaching staff to instill the best attitudes and values to win a flag.

Shocking list, throwing money at a Dusty, Kelly, etc isn't going to fix anything. They've got problems all over the park.
You had problems all over the park last year. You then picked Caddy and Prestia who have allowed Martin & Cotchin to have their best years. Like you, North have a track record of playing finals not that long ago. North might be 2-3 really good players away from putting themselves back into contention.

But once again can they afford to bottom out? They didn't exactly pack the stands when they were in their prelim losing years. How are things going to go for them if they bottom out? Won't take long for the jungle drums to start beating. Again.

Not really.

You made finals last year and the knives were out then too. Largely because everyone could see that you had loaded up and not even come close and that a very steep cliff was fast approaching. It's not "one bad year" it's the start of a lot of bad years and it's something that most saw coming.

The rot started straight after the halfway point last year, north people conveniently forget that.

It's a sad time when copying Richmond is a step up for the NMFC.

As shameful as it is, the honesty, team work, emotion, passion etc that's coming out of Richmond's team is superior to anything North's fraud coach is capable of implementing. If you're failing to meet Richmond's standards, you might as well pack it in.

Bullshit. I often enjoy reading your take on things but I seriously doubt that you actually believe this.

the irony or st kilda, melbourne and carlton posters saying north have to bottom out for 5-6 years :rolleyes:
how have those decade long rebuilds been treating you?

St Kilda made the finals in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

Carlton made the finals in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013

Not exactly decade-long are they?
