Clearly the MCG is Richmond's home ground and not Adelaide's, and as I understand the rules, the home team gets to wear its home jumper. This is outrageous behaviour by the corrupt AFL but sadly not at all surprising.
Ok cool..maybe next year if the crows and tigers play in the grand final then we can play it at adelaide oval so it can be adelaide's home game then...jees mate there is no home team in a granny

When Spain played Netherlands in the 2010 WC Final they were forced to play in their alternate strip. When they did their medal/trophy presentation they changed into their home kit. If it's really important to Richmond to wear their home kit they could just do the same.

Yuck, Richmond have to wear that disgusting lemon top all day? Hope the pub turns the contrast down on the tele.

Shame, white shorts would have been fine. To add to the farce umpire will probably wear fluro yellow as well....

Common sense prevails.

The AFL has confirmed Adelaide will wear its traditional home guernsey in the 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final as the higher-ranked team at the end of the home and away season.

Richmond will don its yellow clash guernsey with black sash.

AFL General Manager Football Operations, Andrew Dillon, said the AFL executive had determined that, as the Adelaide Crows had entered the Grand Final as the highest-ranked side, they would wear the Club’s home Guernsey.

“The AFL legislates that the home team has the right during the home and away season, and it was the view here that with a clash, the AFL had previously made this decision fro the higher-ranked team to have its choice,” he said.

The Crows claimed the McClelland Trophy for finishing atop the 2017 AFL Ladder, while the Tigers ended the season in third position.
Common sense hasn't prevailed
Common sense says that there is no clash, so both clubs should wear their normal jumpers

Did you see the Essendon v Melbourne GF in 2000? The AFL don't want another poor visual spectacle due to both teams in dark based jumpers with a common secondary colour. There should be a clear contrast.

You cannot mandate a clash earlier in the season and then change just for a granny.

It was the right and only decision.

I would support them getting rid of a Rich Adel clash in future years but you can't change mid season

Fwiw gws played us in white earlier this season, orange today

Afl consistency has never been a strong thing

WHATEVS

Thats crap, you wear what you won in. Jumper swaps os a cheap gimmick

No you don't. Adelaide finished higher , there's a clash, you change ya strip. Move on.

Did you see the post i was replying to?

I said playing in the yellow and then switching it on the podium is bullshit. Accept the trophy wearing the kit you won it in

Try reading before getting outraged next time
