Tha

That sounds like race loving... the comment is clearly race orientated. Hahahahaha. Can you be hung for liking the talents of our indigenous players. Stuffed if I know.

After I posted I wondered if someone would take offense. It's a weird world we live in now.

To be clear, I have greatly appreciated the contributions to Hawthorn by our indigenous players, and by Darren Jarman. So I tried to make a joke about how Jarman Impey might combine all of the above. Definitely no offense intended, to anyone.

If anyone is actually offended please let me know and I will delete the original comment.

Ha ha. Poor Melbourne.
They've had so many AFL handouts. Now they should be competitive but they might stuff it up again! Imagine if they missed out on Lever, AND lost Hogan.
Welcome to reality Melbourne.

Yes, it was the Herald-Sun, however it was blink and you'll miss it reported in todays paper there has been whispers we have been interested in Petracca.

No chance I can see this deal getting done, but I wonder if the Watts situation may have left a sour taste in some of the players mouth. Noting Jay Clarke, who is one of the better news hounds, reporting Hogan was not too pleased and is meeting Fremantle.

It's interesting, as perhaps Goodwin may have gone pretty hard on the playing group for their reverse Steven Bradbury moment.

Anyhow, like I said, can't see the deal getting done as no chance Melbourne is letting him leave.

Would give my left nut for Petracca. But as I mentioned a few weeks back to Dees supporters, with them going after Balic, I was wondering whether if they're worried about losing one of their mids??!! Pettraca is destined to become a inside mid bull but I honestly think they have too many.

Just need to wait a few years if they are going to throw silly money around , they will soon run out of silly money when his contract is due

I would be open to trading next yr's 1st round pick if Petracca was interested in coming across. He would be a perfect fit with TOM and JOM in the middle.
Melbourne would want 2 first rounders or next years 1st + best 22 player.
Clarko did say the hawks may be bold this trade period!
Yeah na.

Tyrone to the Dees and Petracca to us should get the job done. ;)

Goodwin, of all the coaches, has a reputation for being really hardcore in training methods. He was a nutter with discipline and fitness when he played and he's carried it through to his coaching style. A lot of the younger coaches are big on tailoring approaches to the individual - Goody is a real "you're in or you're out, and you all better be in" type of coach. Have heard this at many Melbourne Coterie lunches/dinners and from the coaches.

There were always going to be a few that fell out the back and didn't suit this style. They expect it will happen because some players just don't/won't cope with this approach. If you read the commentary around Watts it's all about application and discipline.

I would give my first born for Sloane or Petracca. Might even throw in my youngest two if she's in one of her moods. He is a total gun/bull and Melbourne have an abundance of his type. He's probably sick of playing out of a forward pocket too.

There are some very fringe hints that we haven't seen any news of Hawthorn's biggest play yet. It's gonna get REAL interesting in the next few days I reckon.

They really do have too many. Dom Tyson (Or is it Tom Dyson, I can never remember), Viney, Jones, Petracca, Viney, Lewis and now Balic?

It's like Collingwood's obsession with flankers

And forced to keep Watts coz no-one else wants him :p

Petracca trained with Hawthorn in the lead up to his draft so there is some kind of history/link there albeit quite a small one.

Interesting but can’t see it happening for next years first rounder as an absolute minimum.

Did the Dees know Hogan has one foot out the door with his well known issues this year (cancer / loss of his father) hence their inflated offer to Lever?!

They’d be after key forwards should he leave as their KPF cupboard is pretty bare even with Hogan on the list.

We have a KPF that would put them well into premiership contention should Hogan leave and he just so happens to be pretty good mates with Jordan Lewis (apparently that means a lot on BigFooty).
Not for one second saying that trade would happen but it would be “bold” in any pursuit for Petracca.
Could history repeat again with a club legend that we never thought would be traded under any circumstances???

Roughy is untouchable
Even for a gun in the making in Petracca

I know Footy is a business but after what he has been through it wouldn’t be right

End.Of.Story!

Reckon Melbourne are better without Hogan, in a similar way to Hawthorn being better without Buddy. Multi-pronged attacks work better.

They'll get Lever and should trade hard with the Hogan deal and set themselves up for the next half dozen years. They probably will stuff it up though, as it's what they do.
